Arvika 7004AFFB3 -- Travel Trailer A-Frame Bike Rack Kit

Bolt-on A-frame bike rack engineered specifically for travel trailers. Carries up to 4 bicycles -- including wide-tire mountain bikes -- with zero drilling, zero welding, and a clean factory-style fit on your trailer tongue.

Bring All Four Bikes -- Without Towing a Second Vehicle

Travel trailer owners have always faced the same dilemma: bring the bikes or have room in the tow vehicle. The Arvika 7004AFFB3 solves it by using the one structure that's already there and doing nothing -- your A-frame trailer tongue. The rack clamps directly to the A-frame tubing, distributes weight forward of the axle where your trailer handles it best, and gets out of the way of your hitch and electrical connections.

The kit fits tire widths from 2.25 inches up to 3.25 inches, covering everything from road bikes and hybrids to cross-country mountain bikes and fat-ish trail bikes. Four individual cradles hold each bike upright and secure, so there's no bike-on-bike contact and no scratched frames on a long haul.

4-Bike Capacity

Full-family haul -- all four bikes on a single rack without a hitch receiver or roof load.

No Drill, No Weld

Clamp-on mounting to A-frame tubing. Installs and removes without permanent modification to your trailer.

Wide Tire Compatibility

Tire cradles adjust from 2.25" to 3.25" width -- road, hybrid, mountain, and light fat-tire bikes.

200 lb Rated

Engineered capacity for real-world loads. Four bikes averaging 50 lb each max out the rating evenly.

A-Frame Mounting -- How It Works

The 7004AFFB3 uses heavy-duty steel clamp brackets that grip the square or round tubing of your travel trailer's A-frame tongue. No holes are drilled into the frame, and no welding is required. The clamp hardware is included in the kit. Once installed, the rack sits low and forward, keeping the center of gravity ahead of the axle and within the design limits of typical travel trailer tongue weight ratings.

Because the rack mounts to the A-frame rather than a hitch receiver, it does not consume your 2-inch hitch ball mount, and your trailer's electrical umbilical and breakaway cable remain fully accessible. The rack folds or tilts when not in use on most installations, clearing the area for hookup and unhooking.

Designed for Travel Trailers Specifically

Unlike universal hitch-mount racks that hang behind your tow vehicle, the 7004AFFB3 mounts ahead of the trailer axle on the A-frame tongue. This keeps bikes within the trailer's legal width envelope on most rigs and eliminates the visibility and clearance issues of rear-overhang carrier designs. It also means you don't lose a hitch position for a separate bike rack.

Tire Cradle System

Each bike position uses an adjustable tire cradle that supports the bike by the front and rear tires rather than clamping to the frame or fork. This design is particularly friendly to carbon frames, full-suspension bikes, and bikes with non-standard tube shapes. Cradles adjust to the tire width in the 2.25" to 3.25" range and include rubber contact surfaces to prevent tire sidewall damage during transport.

Bikes are secured to the cradles with the included straps. The system does not require removing wheels and does not rely on a fork mount, so bikes load and unload quickly at camp.

Tire Width Reference Guide

Not sure if your bikes fall in the 2.25"--3.25" range? Check the sidewall of your tire -- the width is printed there (e.g., 29x2.4, 700x35c converted ~1.38", 27.5x2.8). Road bikes typically run 23--35mm (~0.9"--1.4") and may require the cradle at minimum width. Mountain bikes in the 2.25"--3.0" range are the sweet spot for this rack. Standard fat bikes (4.0"+ tires) exceed the cradle range and are not compatible.

Construction and Finish

The Arvika 7004AFFB3 is manufactured in Canada to Arvika's trailer accessory standards. The main rack structure is steel with a powder-coat finish for corrosion resistance. Hardware is zinc-plated. The rack is designed for the vibration and road shock environment of highway towing, with welded joints at primary stress points and bolt-together assembly at adjustable sections.

Tongue Weight Budget -- Check Before You Load

Adding a loaded 4-bike rack to your A-frame adds weight forward of the axle, which increases tongue weight on your hitch ball. Always check your travel trailer's maximum tongue weight rating and your tow vehicle's maximum tongue weight capacity before loading the rack. A fully loaded rack at 200 lb will increase tongue weight by approximately 180--200 lb depending on mounting position. Most travel trailers are rated for 10--15% of GVWR as tongue weight -- confirm your numbers before driving.

Installation and Maintenance Tips

  • Torque all clamp bolts to the hardware specifications in the included instruction sheet before first use and re-check after the first 50 miles of towing.
  • Rinse the rack after travel through road salt or heavy rain to extend powder-coat life.
  • Inspect cradle straps before each trip for cuts, fraying, or UV deterioration. Replace immediately if damaged.
  • Confirm bike straps are tight and bikes are not contacting each other before departure -- road vibration can work loose initial strap tension over the first few miles.
  • Use a secondary cable lock through all four bike frames when parked at campgrounds to deter opportunistic theft.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing

  • Maximum rated capacity is 200 lb total across all four bike positions. Do not exceed this limit.
  • This rack mounts to the travel trailer A-frame tongue only. It is not designed for fifth wheels, toy haulers, or hitch receivers.
  • Adding a loaded rack increases trailer tongue weight. Verify your trailer's tongue weight rating and your tow vehicle's tongue weight capacity before loading and towing.
  • Tire width must be between 2.25" and 3.25". Bikes outside this range cannot be safely secured in the cradles.
  • Inspect all clamp hardware and straps before every trip. Re-torque clamp bolts after the first 50 miles of towing.
  • This rack does not include a bike lock. Bikes should be independently secured with a cable or chain lock when the trailer is parked and unattended.
  • Not intended for use on public roads as a bicycle carrier on a motor vehicle -- for travel trailer tongue mounting only.
