Hardwired EMS with remote digital display. 3-mode surge protection, full fault detection, microprocessor-controlled. Made in the USA. Lifetime warranty.
The EMS-HW30C is one of the most comprehensive electrical protection systems available for 30-amp RVs. Unlike basic surge protectors, this is a full Energy Management System — a microprocessor-controlled unit that continuously monitors your shore power and automatically shuts down power to your RV the moment it detects a dangerous condition, then restores it automatically once power returns to safe levels.
Because it hardwires directly between your RV's AC inlet and electrical panel, the EMS-HW30C is always in place — no forgetting it at home, no risk of theft. The included 14-foot remote display cable lets you mount the scrolling digital readout inside your RV for at-a-glance monitoring of voltage, amperage, frequency, and fault codes without going outside to check the unit.
Covers all three paths — Line-to-Neutral, Line-to-Ground, and Neutral-to-Ground — for complete surge defense
14' data cable lets you mount the scrolling readout inside your RV for easy monitoring of all power metrics
Hardwired installation means it's always working — never left behind, never stolen from the pedestal
Engineered and manufactured domestically with a Limited Lifetime Manufacturer Warranty
Portable surge protectors sit exposed at the power pedestal where they're vulnerable to theft and the elements. A hardwired EMS installs inside your RV once and protects you every single time you plug in — no setup required, no forgetting it at home. The EMS-HW30C also goes far beyond basic surge protection. A portable-only unit stops surges but can't detect open grounds, reversed polarity, lost neutrals, or frequency faults. The EMS-HW30C monitors all of these conditions simultaneously and responds in under a nanosecond. Not sure which surge protector is right for you? Check out our Surge Protection Comparison Guide.

Professional installation is strongly recommended. The EMS-HW30C installs between your RV's AC shore power inlet and the main electrical panel. General steps: 1. Disconnect shore power completely before beginning 2. Mount the EMS unit in a protected interior location near the AC inlet 3. Wire in-line between the AC inlet and your RV's breaker panel per the included wiring diagram 4. Route the data cable to your preferred display location inside the RV 5. Mount the remote display panel and connect via the 14' data cable 6. Restore power and verify all readings on the remote display The bypass switch on the remote panel allows temporary bypass of the computer circuit while retaining surge protection if needed. 📥 Download the EMS-HW30C Installation & Operation Manual (PDF)
E-1 — Reverse Polarity (hot/neutral swapped at pedestal) E-2 — Open Ground (missing ground at pedestal) E-7 — Frequency too low (>9 Hz below 60 Hz) E-8 — Frequency too high (>9 Hz above 60 Hz) E-10 — Surge fault: internal surge circuit damaged, unit needs replacement No display illumination = Open/Lost Neutral detected. Do not attempt to bypass — have the pedestal inspected by a qualified electrician.
