The Suburban Mfg 523003 is a two-stage propane regulator that controls the flow of gas to all RV appliances, not just a single unit. The first stage reduces cylinder outlet pressure down to 10 PSI, while the second stage maintains a stable working pressure of 11" water column for consistent appliance performance. A built-in shutoff valve is included, and this version is built for vertical-vent mounting, meaning the regulator's pressure-relief vent is oriented to face up or down once installed. It's approved for RV use and suitable for single horizontal or vertical propane tank setups.
This same two-stage regulator is also available in a horizontal-vent orientation as part #523002, and with an added excess flow valve for extra protection against hose ruptures as part #523015 (vertical) or #523014 (horizontal), if either of those features is needed instead.
This is a whole-system propane regulator, not a water heater or furnace exhaust vent. "Vertical vent" refers to the orientation of the regulator's own pressure-relief vent opening once mounted.
