UV exposure, wind buffeting, rain pooling, and trapped humidity are the primary enemies of a stored travel trailer. This cover addresses all four.
The tan 4-layer polypropylene fabric is UV-treated to resist solar degradation and water intrusion while remaining breathable enough to allow moisture vapor to escape. That breathability is critical: sealed, non-breathable covers trap condensation and accelerate mold growth on walls, roof seams, and slide-out seals. The built-in vents further promote airflow through the cover.

Wind is the primary cause of cover failure in long-term storage. ADCO's Slip-Seam Strapping System pulls the cover down and in at all four bottom corners, eliminating the slack that lets wind get under the cover and billow or lift it. The front, rear, and bottom buckle cinching system works together to remove slack from every angle.
The CAM buckle design is intentional: standard hook-and-loop or simple snap buckles loosen over time with temperature cycling and wind stress. CAM buckles maintain tension and prevent the strap from back-feeding through the buckle during unattended use -- an important distinction for a cover that may sit for months without being checked.
Unlike fully sealed tarps or non-woven covers that trap humidity, the ADCO 4-layer polypropylene construction allows water vapor to pass through the fabric. Combined with built-in vents, this keeps the space under the cover dry even during prolonged storage in humid climates.
Keeping the roof clean during storage does more than improve appearance. Dirt, debris, and standing water on an RV roof are the primary source of the black streaks that run down trailer sidewalls -- streaks that are difficult to remove and that accelerate oxidation of the gelcoat. ADCO sizes travel trailer covers by the length of the coach. Measure from the longest two points of the trailer body, including bumpers and rear ladder, but excluding the hitch ball and coupler. Do not include the hitch in your measurement -- hitch length varies and the cover is not designed to cover it.
This cover -- part number 01-2697 -- is sized for trailers measuring 22 ft 1 in through 24 ft 0 in by that method. If your trailer measures exactly at a boundary, size up. A cover that is slightly large will install easier and stress the seams less than one that is pulled tight.
Do not include hitch length in your measurement. Measuring to the wrong reference point is the most common cause of incorrect cover sizing. Measure bumper-to-bumper (or ladder-to-front cap) on the trailer body only.
The weighted buckle toss-under tool included with this cover is genuinely useful for solo installation -- threading straps under a 24 ft trailer without dragging them in the dirt or crawling under the rig is one of the more frustrating parts of cover installation. Use the weighted tool to toss the strap end under and out the other side before attaching the CAM buckle.
During extended storage, inspect the cover every 30 to 60 days. Re-tension any loose straps, check for small tears or abrasion points at the corners, and use the included adhesive reinforcement patches to address any wear before it becomes a full tear. Catching small issues early extends cover life significantly.
