Lippert OEM 18:1 Gear Ratio 12V DC Lippert 125802 Tuson 18:1 Through-Frame Slide-Out Motor

Genuine Lippert replacement motor manufactured by Tuson for Through-Frame electric slide-out systems. Exact OEM fit for 2x2 and 2.5x2.5 actuators with 24" or 40" stroke. Motor and gearbox assembly only -- actuator not included.

Restore Reliable Slide-Out Operation

The Lippert 125802 is the genuine OEM replacement motor for Lippert Through-Frame electric slide-out systems. Manufactured by Tuson specifically for Lippert, this motor is an exact-match replacement for the original equipment installed at the factory. When your slide-out moves slowly, fails to extend or retract fully, or the motor makes grinding or burning smells, this is the direct-fit solution.

The 18:1 gear ratio delivers smooth, consistent slide-out operation with enough torque to drive large room slides reliably over thousands of cycles. It is compatible with both 24-inch and 40-inch stroke actuators used in the Through-Frame system architecture found across a wide range of Lippert-equipped towables and motorhomes.

18:1 Gear Ratio

High-torque gearing moves heavy slide rooms smoothly and reliably cycle after cycle.

OEM Tuson Build

Manufactured by Tuson for Lippert -- same motor that came in your RV at the factory.

Dual Actuator Fit

Compatible with both 24" and 40" stroke Through-Frame actuators, 2x2 and 2.5x2.5 tube sizes.

12V DC Operation

Runs on standard 12-volt RV house battery power -- no inverter or shore power required.

Through-Frame System -- What That Means

Through-Frame slide-out systems route a steel actuator tube through the RV's frame rails to push and retract the slide room. The motor mounts to a gearbox that drives the actuator tube in and out. This design is common on mid-size and large travel trailers, fifth wheels, and some Class A motorhomes built with Lippert (formerly Kinro/LCI) chassis components. If your slide-out motor bolts directly to a gearbox housing mounted on the frame, and the actuator tube passes through the frame, you have a Through-Frame system.

Actuator Tube Compatibility

This motor is designed for use with two actuator sizes common to the Lippert Through-Frame lineup:

  • 2 x 2 inch square tube actuators -- typically found on lighter slide rooms and shorter stroke applications
  • 2.5 x 2.5 inch square tube actuators -- used on heavier slide rooms and longer stroke applications
  • Compatible actuator stroke lengths: 24 inches and 40 inches

Verify your actuator tube size and stroke length before ordering. The actuator assembly and slide-out room hardware are not included with this motor.

Verify Your System Before Ordering

Lippert has produced multiple generations of Through-Frame slide-out systems. Confirm the following before purchasing:

  • Your current motor is the Tuson-style motor (cylindrical body with integral gearbox nose)
  • Your actuator tube is 2x2 or 2.5x2.5 square steel tube
  • Your actuator stroke is 24" or 40"
  • Your system operates on 12V DC (not 24V)
  • Cross-reference with your coach build sheet or Lippert's VIN lookup if uncertain

Installation Notes

This is a motor and integrated gearbox assembly. Replacement involves disconnecting the two-wire 12V harness, unbolting the motor from the actuator housing, and reversing the process with the new unit. Most DIY-capable owners can complete the swap in under an hour with basic hand tools. Torque the mounting fasteners to the gearbox manufacturer's specification. After installation, cycle the slide fully in and out at least twice to confirm smooth operation before loading the room.

Common Failure Symptoms This Motor Addresses

  • Slide-out moves very slowly or stops mid-travel
  • Motor runs but slide does not move (stripped gears inside motor/gearbox)
  • Burning smell from motor housing during operation
  • Motor hums but shaft does not turn
  • Slide-out operates intermittently or reverses unexpectedly due to motor overload

Important Information

  • This listing is for the motor and gearbox assembly only. The actuator tube, room hardware, and mounting brackets are NOT included.
  • Confirm your system is a Through-Frame type before ordering. Rack-and-pinion and schwintek (in-wall) slide-out systems use completely different motors.
  • This motor is rated for 12V DC only. Do not attempt to run on 24V.
  • Verify actuator tube size (2x2 or 2.5x2.5) and stroke length (24" or 40") match your existing system before installation.
  • Always disconnect 12V house power and chock the RV before servicing the slide-out motor.
  • Support the slide room mechanically before removing the motor -- rooms can shift without the motor engaged.
  • If the actuator tube or internal rack shows wear or damage, inspect and service those components while the motor is removed.
