The Xantrex 31-6257-00 is the OEM-specified 25-foot communications cable for Freedom X and XC series inverter/chargers. It connects via RJ12 ports on both the inverter/charger unit and the remote panel, allowing you to mount the remote panel up to 25 feet away from the inverter — giving you the flexibility to place controls where they're most convenient inside an RV, marine vessel, or work vehicle.
The cable uses a 6-conductor, 26AWG cross-wired flat design and is UL listed. It is also used to extend the connection between a Freedom X/XC inverter/charger and the Freedom X Combox (808-0822) for RV-C or NMEA 2000 integration. For installations requiring greater reach, the 31-6262-00 (50-foot) version is available separately.

Connection is straightforward: 1. Locate the RJ12 communication port on your Freedom X or XC inverter/charger 2. Plug one end of the 31-6257-00 into the inverter's RJ12 port 3. Route the cable to the desired remote panel location (up to 25 feet) 4. Plug the other end into the RJ12 port on the remote panel or Combox Note: If 25 feet is insufficient for your installation, use the 31-6262-00 (50-foot) cable instead. Do not splice or extend the cable, as this may affect signal integrity.

This cable is designed specifically for the Freedom X and XC inverter/charger families. It is not intended for use with older Freedom HF, Freedom SW, Freedom 458, or Prowatt SW models, which use different remote cable part numbers. Verify your inverter/charger model before ordering.
