Lippert Solera 8 Ft / 2-Bow Kit Made in the USA Solera Awnbrella Awning Support Kit -- 8 Ft, 2 Bows (LIP362238)

Stop fighting pooled water and sagging fabric every time it rains. The Lippert Solera Awnbrella installs two rust-resistant aluminum arch bows across your existing RV awning, creating a positive pitch that sheds water and debris automatically -- no manual shaking or tilting required. Designed for most standard 8 ft projection awnings with a roller tube width of 10 to 14 ft.

Better Pitch, Better Protection for Your RV Awning

Extended awning time is one of the great pleasures of RV camping -- until an afternoon thunderstorm fills your awning with 20 lbs of standing water. The Awnbrella solves this by arching the awning fabric between the roller tube and the hanger rail, so water always has a downhill path off the edge instead of pooling in the center.

The two-bow kit is rated for awnings where the roller tube projects approximately 8 ft from the RV wall. Each adjustable arm spans a 57-inch outer section and a 30-inch inner section, letting you fine-tune the arch height and tension to match your specific awning model and fabric tension.

Rust-Resistant Aluminum Bows

Lightweight aluminum construction resists corrosion through seasons of outdoor use. Each bow holds awning fabric tight and arched without adding excessive weight to the roller assembly.

Improved Door Clearance

Arching the fabric raises the center and trailing edge of the awning, giving you noticeably better headroom above your RV entry door -- a real benefit on rigs with lower roller tube positions.

Velcro Stabilizers Included

Four adhesive-backed Velcro pads are included as a safety precaution to secure the Awnbrella arms against shifting or falling once installed and tensioned.

Complete Hardware Kit

Kit includes two adjustable arms, four Velcro pads, two hanger blocks, four plastic tightening knobs, and four 1-1/4 in. self-tapping mounting screws -- everything needed except the drill.

Fitment and Compatibility

The Awnbrella LIP362238 is designed to fit most standard 8 ft projected awnings with a roller tube width between 10 ft and 14 ft. The adjustable arm design accommodates variation in awning tension and pitch across different awning brands and RV wall configurations.

Roller Tube Height Requirement: For proper water drainage, the roller tube must be positioned at least 6 inches lower than the hanger rail on your RV wall. If your awning sits flush or nearly flush with the rail, the Awnbrella cannot create sufficient pitch for drainage.

Awnbrella arms must be evenly spaced across the awning width, with no more than 54 inches between each arm. On a 10-14 ft awning using two bows, spacing both arms equidistant from center satisfies this requirement in most cases.

Installation Overview

Installation is a DIY-friendly project for anyone comfortable working on a ladder and drilling into aluminum awning hardware. No welding or specialty tools are required beyond what most RV owners already have in their bay.

  • Cordless or electric drill or screw gun
  • 7/16 in. metal drill bit
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • 1/4 in. fine round file
  • Center punch
  • Ladder
  • Measuring tape

The hanger blocks mount to the roller tube using the included self-tapping screws. Arms are then threaded through the hanger blocks and secured with the plastic tightening knobs. Velcro stabilizers attach to the awning fabric to keep arms from migrating under wind load.

Made in the USA -- The Solera Awnbrella is manufactured domestically and backed by a limited 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Awning Fabric Condition

Inspect your awning fabric before installing the Awnbrella. Arching creates tension across the full width of the fabric. Installing the Awnbrella on fabric that is already worn, cracked, or has small tears can cause the material to rip further under that tension. If your fabric needs replacement, do that first.

Long-Term and Full-Timer Use

Weekend campers benefit from not having to babysit their awning every time clouds roll in. Full-timers and long-term site campers get even more value -- the Awnbrella removes the need to retract the awning at the first sign of rain, and helps prevent the fabric stretching and mildew that comes from repeated water pooling.

Maintenance Tip: After heavy rain or wind events, inspect the tightening knobs and Velcro stabilizers to confirm the arms have not shifted. Re-tension as needed at the start of each camping season.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • The roller tube must be at least 6 inches lower than the hanger rail for proper water drainage. The Awnbrella will not drain correctly if the awning is installed level or nearly level.
  • Awning fabric must be in good condition before installation. Worn, cracked, or torn fabric can rip further under the tension created by the arch bows.
  • Do not leave your awning open in strong winds, with or without the Awnbrella installed.
  • Arms must be evenly spaced with no more than 54 inches between each arm.
  • This kit is sized for 8 ft projected awnings with roller widths of 10-14 ft. Verify your awning projection and roller width before ordering.
  • Drilling into the roller tube is required. Use proper PPE and work from a stable ladder.
