Stop wrestling with your air compressor nozzle every time you winterize. The Camco 36143 Quick Connect Blow-Out Plug threads into your RV's city water inlet and locks your compressor hose in place -- so you can walk inside, open faucets one by one, and fully purge every line without a helper holding the nozzle.

Hands-Free Winterization, Done Right

Winterizing your RV water system with compressed air is one of the most reliable methods -- but it usually takes two people or a lot of awkward contortion to keep the compressor nozzle seated against the city water inlet. The Camco 36143 solves that. It threads directly into the inlet, snaps onto your standard 1/4 in. quick-connect air hose, and stays put so you can move freely through the rig.

Built from sturdy brass, this plug is compact enough to toss in a toolbox and durable enough to handle season after season of use. It works equally well for de-winterization blow-outs in the spring when you want to clear any residual antifreeze or stagnant water before connecting to a campground supply.

Hands-Free Operation

Locks into the city water inlet so you can open faucets and purge lines without holding the nozzle in place.

Brass Construction

Solid brass body resists corrosion and stands up to repeated seasonal use without cracking or degrading.

Standard Quick Connect

1/4 in. male quick-connect fitting mates with virtually all standard air compressor hoses and fittings.

Compact and Lightweight

Weighs just 0.14 lbs. Stores easily in your winterization kit, toolbox, or basement storage compartment.

How to Use This Plug for Winterization

Using the Camco 36143 is straightforward, but a few technique notes help you get a complete blow-out:

  • Set your air compressor to 30-50 PSI -- most RV plumbing systems should not exceed 50 PSI during blow-out to avoid damaging seals and fittings.
  • Thread the blow-out plug into the city water inlet hand-tight. No tools needed for most inlets.
  • Snap your 1/4 in. quick-connect air hose onto the plug.
  • Open one faucet at a time (hot and cold separately) until only air exits, then move to the next.
  • Don't forget the toilet, outdoor shower, and any low-point drains.
  • After completing the blow-out, disconnect the air hose and store the plug with your winterization kit.
Works with Standard City Water Inlets: The plug is designed to fit the standard threaded city water inlet found on the vast majority of travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A/B/C motorhomes. The inlet typically accepts a 3/4 in. garden hose fitting -- the blow-out plug's threaded base is sized to match that inlet directly.
Spring De-Winterization Tip: This plug is also handy in spring. Before connecting to a campground water supply, use it to blow residual RV antifreeze out of lines, reducing the amount you need to flush through the system.
Compressor Pressure: Keep compressor output at or below 50 PSI when blowing out RV water lines. Higher pressures can damage water pump diaphragms, seal seats, and PEX or flexible line fittings. Disconnect or bypass the water pump before applying air.
Winterization Kit Companion: Pair this plug with Camco's water heater bypass kit and a water pump converter kit for a complete compressed-air winterization setup that does not require antifreeze in the lines.

Important Information
  • Do NOT exceed 50 PSI when blowing out RV water lines -- higher pressure can damage pumps, seals, and plumbing fittings.
  • Disconnect or bypass the RV water pump before applying compressed air to avoid running the pump dry and damaging the diaphragm.
  • This plug is for use with the fresh water city water inlet only -- do not attempt to pressurize black or gray tank vents or lines.
  • Thread the plug in hand-tight only -- overtightening with tools can crack the inlet fitting on your RV.
  • Air compressor hose with 1/4 in. quick-connect fitting is required and is NOT included with this plug.
  • Inspect the blow-out plug before each use. Replace if threads are stripped or the brass shows cracking.
How to Use:
1. Screw the quick-connect brass blow out plug into your RVs city water inlet.
2. Connect your air compressor (below 40 PSI).
3. Open all valves and faucets until only air is present.
