The EVO filter housing is built to last, but the cartridge inside has a finite service life. Camco designed the 40621 as a direct-fit replacement so you can keep the housing and swap only the filtration media -- saving waste and cost over buying a whole new unit every season.
The 40621 uses a three-layer filtration architecture: an outer 5-micron polypropylene shell catches sediment and particulates first, a middle KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) media layer targets heavy metals, chlorine, and bacteria, and an inner GAC (granulated activated carbon) core handles residual taste and odor. Water passes through all three stages in sequence for clean, palatable results at the campsite hookup.
Outer polypropylene shell captures sediment, silt, and particulates down to 5 microns before water reaches the KDF and carbon stages.
Kinetic Degradation Fluxion media reduces chlorine, heavy metals (including lead and mercury), and inhibits bacteria and algae growth in the cartridge itself.
GAC removes residual chlorine byproducts, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and the taste and odor issues common at RV park water hookups.

The 40621 cartridge is engineered specifically for the Camco EVO inline RV water filter housing (sold separately). It threads or snaps into the existing housing body -- no tools or adapters required. If you already own the EVO housing unit, this is the cartridge you need at the start of each camping season or after heavy use.
This cartridge is not a universal replacement for other brands or housing styles. Verify you have the Camco EVO housing before ordering.
Camco rates the 40621 for approximately one camping season of typical use. Heavy use, poor source water quality, or extended full-time use will shorten cartridge life. Replace the cartridge when you notice:
