CamcoCSA Approved200,000 BTU/hrCamco 59065 -- 15-Inch Propane Pigtail Connector for RV Tanks and Regulators

Keep your propane supply connected reliably with the Camco 59065 pigtail connector. This 15-inch hose bridges your new-style 20 lb or 30 lb refillable propane cylinder to your RV or trailer propane regulator, or to an installed 4-port brass tee as an auxiliary supply line. Built-in excess flow and thermal protection add a critical layer of safety that many bare hoses skip.

The Right Hose for New-Style Cylinders

Camco's pigtail connectors are a go-to item for RV owners running dual-tank setups, adding an auxiliary supply, or simply replacing a cracked or aging hose. The 59065 uses a POL-to-ACME transition design: the tank end is a standard ACME nut (the large, left-hand threaded fitting on all post-1998 OPD-equipped cylinders), and the regulator end is a 1/4-inch male inverted flare -- the most common inlet on RV two-stage regulators and 4-port brass tees.

At 15 inches, this hose gives you enough reach to position a vertical or horizontal cylinder without strain on the fittings, while staying compact enough for underslung RV propane compartments.

200,000 BTU/hr Rating

Handles the full propane demand of most RV appliance loads including furnace, range, and water heater running simultaneously.

Excess Flow Protection

Internal valve shuts flow if the downstream line breaks or is severed, limiting propane release in a rupture scenario.

Thermal Protection

Automatic shutoff activates in a fire condition, reducing the risk of an uncontrolled fuel feed to an open flame.

CSA Approved

Certified to Canadian Standards Association requirements -- accepted by inspectors and required by many campground compliance checks.

Compatible Tank and Regulator Connections

The ACME nut on the tank end threads onto any standard OPD (Overfill Protection Device) valve found on new-style 20 lb and 30 lb refillable cylinders sold in the U.S. since 1998. It will not thread onto older POL-style (left-hand threaded brass plug) fittings -- if your cylinder has a POL valve with no hand-wheel, you need a different connector.

The 1/4-inch male inverted flare output connects directly to:

  • Standard RV two-stage propane regulators with 1/4-inch inverted flare inlets
  • Camco and Marshall Excelsior 4-port brass tee manifolds
  • Auxiliary supply ports on multi-tank systems
Dual-Tank Tip: Running two cylinders? Pair two of these pigtails with a dual-stage automatic changeover regulator. When one tank empties, the regulator switches to the second automatically -- no manual intervention required while boondocking or sleeping.

Installation Notes

The ACME nut is hand-tightened -- no wrench needed on the tank side. The 1/4-inch inverted flare at the regulator end requires a wrench (typically 5/8-inch or 11/16-inch open-end). Tighten snugly but do not overtorque; inverted flare seats seal on metal-to-metal contact, not thread compound. Do not use Teflon tape or pipe dope on either end.

After connection, perform a leak check: apply soapy water to all joints and watch for bubbles with the tank valve open. No bubbles means a good seal.

Heads Up -- New-Style Tanks Only: This connector fits OPD-equipped cylinders (post-1998 hand-wheel style). It will not work with old POL-valve cylinders. Check your tank's valve type before ordering.
Maintenance: Inspect the hose annually for cracks, kinks, abrasion, or fitting corrosion. Replace immediately if any damage is found. Propane hoses degrade from UV exposure, ozone, and road vibration -- even if they look intact externally. Camco recommends replacement every 5 years or per your RV manufacturer's interval, whichever comes first.

Important Information
  • For use with new-style OPD-equipped cylinders ONLY (hand-wheel valve). Does not fit old POL-style tanks.
  • Do NOT use Teflon tape or pipe dope on ACME nut or inverted flare connections.
  • Always perform a soap-bubble leak test after connecting. Never use an open flame to check for leaks.
  • Do not use this connector with portable camp cylinders (1 lb disposable) -- it is rated for 20 lb and 30 lb refillable tanks only.
  • Inspect hose annually for cracks, UV damage, kinking, or corrosion. Replace any damaged hose immediately.
  • Keep propane connections and hoses clear of heat sources, exhaust vents, and sharp edges that could abrade the hose.
  • Shut off the tank valve before disconnecting or reconnecting this pigtail.
