Stand outside your RV and face the awning as if you are standing under it looking at the RV wall. The left side is the idler (non-motorized) end -- it has no motor and no switch wiring. The right side is the drive end and uses a different cover part number. If your awning has a motor on one end, you need the right-side drive cover, not this part.
