If you are switching from a different brand of rooftop air conditioner or performing a first-time installation, a Coleman Mach ceiling assembly is required and sold separately. For this Ultra-Low Profile (37xxx) unit, use only Coleman Mach Ultra-Low Profile compatible ceiling assemblies. The ceiling assembly provides the interior grille, air distribution, return air path, and wiring connections to complete the system. Verify ceiling assembly compatibility before ordering if replacing an existing Coleman Mach unit.
The Mach 8 Plus 37204-079 is heat-ready. Add the Coleman Mach Ultra-Low Profile Electric Heat Kit (part 37203-4551, sold separately) to gain 6,000 BTU of electric heat — more than the 5,600 BTU available on medium and low-profile units, owing to the Mach 8 Plus's larger heat strip capacity. Important: Use only the Ultra-Low Profile heat kit (37203-4551) with this unit. The medium/low profile heat kit (38203-4551) is not compatible with 37xxx series units. Confirm your ceiling assembly is heat-ready before ordering the heat kit.
Note: Electrical amp and watt specifications (cooling amps, locked rotor amps, running watts) should be confirmed from the unit's nameplate or data sheet. The Mach 8 Plus line includes multiple electrical variants; verify against your specific unit's documentation before sizing wiring or generator capacity.
Before Installing: 1. Verify Roof Opening: Confirm a standard 14" × 14" vent cutout is present 2. Ceiling Assembly: For brand switches or new installs, order a compatible Coleman Mach Ultra-Low Profile (37xxx) ceiling assembly separately before beginning work 3. Prepare the Roof: Remove old unit, clean the opening, and inspect the roof deck for soft spots or damage 4. Set Gasket & Position Unit: Place the roof gasket over the opening and lower the unit from above 5. Secure & Seal: Fasten mounting bolts through the ceiling assembly from inside; apply RV roof sealant around the perimeter 6. Connect Wiring: Complete all electrical connections per the wiring diagram in the included installation manual 7.
