This part is a 12" trailer brake hub complete kit. It is not a hydraulic brake actuator, surge brake coupler, master cylinder, brake caliper, or complete brake backing plate assembly. Before ordering, confirm axle rating, brake size, bolt pattern, wheel size, stud size, bearing set, seal size, and brake type.
This hub kit is made for compatible 7,000-lb axles with a 12" brake size, 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, and 9/16" wheel studs. Axle capacity alone is not enough to confirm fit. Always compare the existing hub, drum size, bearing numbers, grease seal size, bolt pattern, stud size, and wheel size before ordering.
1. Confirm Fit: Match the axle rating, brake size, bolt pattern, wheel size, stud size, bearing set, seal size, and brake type before installation. 2. Remove Old Hub: Safely lift and support the trailer, then remove the wheel, dust cap, spindle hardware, and existing hub assembly. 3. Inspect Components: Check the spindle, brake shoes, magnet or hydraulic brake components, wiring or hydraulic lines, and mounting hardware for wear or damage. 4. Install New Hub: Install the pre-greased hub assembly with the included spindle washer, castle nut, cotter pin, dust cap, and lug nuts according to axle manufacturer service procedures. 5. Test Before Towing: Verify bearing preload, hub rotation, brake operation, wheel installation, and lug nut torque before towing. Trailer hub and brake service should be performed by a qualified technician if fitment, bearing preload, brake adjustment, or torque procedure is uncertain.
