The Lippert 2024028246 forward self-adjusting electric trailer brake assembly is designed for the left-hand, driver-side position on compatible 4,400-lb trailer axles. It fits 10" x 2-1/4" drum brake applications with a 4-bolt brake mounting flange.
The forward self-adjusting design helps maintain proper brake-to-drum clearance during forward stops, reducing the need for manual adjustment after the initial setup and helping provide more consistent braking performance over the life of the brake assembly.

Trailer brake assemblies must be matched by left/right side, brake size, axle rating, mounting flange pattern, drum size, and brake type. This is the left-hand / driver-side electric brake assembly. It is not the right-hand passenger-side assembly and is not a hydraulic drum brake assembly.
This electric brake assembly requires a compatible electric trailer brake controller, sold separately. No hydraulic actuator or hydraulic brake lines are required for this electric brake setup. Mounting hardware is sold separately.

Remove Old Assembly: Safely lift and support the trailer, remove the hub/drum assembly, disconnect the brake wiring, and remove the existing brake assembly. 3. Install New Brake: Mount the replacement brake assembly to the brake flange using compatible mounting hardware and connect the brake wiring according to trailer service procedures. 4. Reinstall Hub/Drum: Reinstall the hub/drum assembly, set bearing preload properly, and verify smooth rotation. 5. Adjust and Test: Perform the initial brake adjustment, test brake controller operation, and verify proper braking before towing. Trailer brake service should be performed by a qualified technician if wiring, brake adjustment, bearing preload, or fitment is uncertain.
