A reliable, code-compliant propane pigtail built specifically for RV LP gas systems. The MER426-20 connects your Type 1 QCC tank valve directly to a 1/4 in. MNPT regulator or manifold port, with a 350 PSIG working pressure rating, thermal protection, and a full 5-year manufacturer warranty -- all made in the USA.
Propane pigtails are the short flexible connectors between your LP tank's POL or QCC valve and the regulator -- they take vibration, movement, and thermal cycling every time you travel. The MER426-20 uses a flexible thermoplastic hose body that absorbs road vibration without cracking or work-hardening like older rubber hoses, and both ends are finished with fully crimped brass ferrules for leak-free, pull-resistant connections.
The Female QCC Type 1 end threads directly onto any standard 1-pound-or-greater propane cylinder valve (the same Type 1 connection used on virtually all modern RV DOT cylinders). The 1/4 in. MNPT end connects to matching female ports on regulators, T-fittings, automatic changeover valves, or manifolds. At 20 inches, this hose gives enough slack to accommodate tank orientation without putting stress on fittings.
Rated well above normal propane service pressure, providing a substantial safety margin in RV LP systems.
Supports 100 SCFH (standard cubic feet per hour) -- more than enough for dual-burner setups or high-demand appliances.
Integrated thermal protection guards the hose against heat exposure and helps meet code requirements for propane installations.
Both ends are factory-crimped -- no loose fittings, no field assembly. The 400 lb. pull-test rating keeps connections secure under road stress.
The female QCC Type 1 fitting tightens by hand onto the tank valve (left-hand thread, standard on all modern US propane cylinders). No wrench needed on the cylinder side. Use a wrench only on the 1/4 in. MNPT end when connecting to the regulator or manifold -- and always use thread sealant rated for LP gas on that NPT connection.
NFPA 58 and most RV manufacturer guidelines recommend replacing LP hoses every 5 years or sooner if any cracking, abrasion, or damage is visible. The manufacture date is stamped on the hose -- check it during any service interval. Never use a hose past its printed expiration date.
