Suburban Mfg 523011 -- 72" High Pressure LP Gas Hose
A purpose-built, high-pressure propane supply line connecting RV propane tanks to regulators or appliances on the high-pressure side of the system. Features 3/8" FPT on one end and a 3/8" female flare swivel on the other, with thermal protection built in.
The Suburban Mfg 523011 is a 72-inch high pressure LP gas hose designed to carry propane on the high-pressure side of an RV propane system -- between the tank and the regulator, or between a tank and an appliance that requires a high-pressure connection. At six feet of usable length, it gives you real flexibility in routing and positioning your propane supply without forcing tight bends or relying on rigid copper tubing.
One end terminates in a 3/8" female pipe thread (FPT) connection for secure attachment to tank valves, manifolds, or regulator inlets that use standard pipe thread. The other end uses a 3/8" female flare swivel fitting, which allows the hose to seat flat against a flare fitting without twisting or stressing the hose body during tightening.
This hose is rated for high-pressure LP service and includes thermal protection -- an outer sleeve or coating that guards the hose body against heat sources and radiant heat near the connection point, a practical feature when routing near engine compartments, generator exhausts, or furnace flue areas.
Six feet of hose length for flexible routing between tank and regulator or appliance, avoiding tight bends and rigid runs.
3/8" female flare swivel on one end lets the fitting seat without twisting the hose, reducing stress at the connection point.
3/8" FPT on the opposite end for compatibility with tank valves, manifolds, and regulators using standard pipe thread.
Outer thermal shielding guards the hose body from radiant heat and incidental contact near hot surfaces in the propane system area.
This is a high-pressure LP hose intended for use before the regulator -- on the tank supply side where gas is still at tank pressure. Common applications include:
3/8" FPT (Female Pipe Thread): Standard NPT pipe thread -- threads on the inside of the fitting. Connects to a male pipe thread (MPT) port on a tank valve, manifold, or regulator body. Use thread sealant rated for LP gas (not standard Teflon tape on flare fittings).
3/8" Female Flare Swivel: A flared seat connection (SAE 45-deg flare) with a swiveling nut. Mates with a 3/8" male flare fitting. Do not use thread sealant on flare connections -- the seal is metal-to-metal at the flare seat. The swivel allows the nut to rotate freely during tightening so the hose body does not wind up or twist.
This hose carries propane at full tank pressure -- typically 100-200 PSI depending on temperature and fill level. It is not a low-pressure appliance hose. Before installing, confirm that both the source fitting and destination fitting are rated for high-pressure LP service. Do not use this hose on the low-pressure (post-regulator) side of the system with low-pressure fittings or appliances.
