The Suburban Mfg 521073 is a replacement solenoid kit for the dual-solenoid gas control valve used on Suburban Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) RV water heaters and SF/SFQ model furnaces. The solenoid receives 12V from the control board or thermostat to open and close gas flow to the appliance; a failing solenoid is a common cause of ignition problems. A quick continuity test (30-50 ohms on a good coil) can help confirm whether a solenoid has failed.
Suburban's dual-solenoid gas valves are supplied by two separate vendors, each with its own solenoid design.
