The Camco 48748 is the spring bar locking device repair kit for the Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 weight distribution hitch — a 2-pack that replaces the hardware in both of the R6's spring bar locking devices simultaneously. The spring bar locking device is the mechanism built into the ball mount that automatically locks each spring bar into its socket when inserted, and releases it when the bar is swung parallel to the bumper for disengagement.
Over time the locking device components — pin, retainer, and screw — can wear, lose tension, or fail, preventing the spring bars from locking securely or releasing cleanly. This kit provides genuine Eaz-Lift replacement hardware to restore proper locking function on both sides of the hitch. Each of the two locking device sets includes one pin, one retainer, and one screw. Per Camco's own product records, this part carries the legacy SKU 48104.

Per the Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 installation manual: Engaging: Insert the spring bar into the ball mount socket — the locking device automatically engages and locks the bar in position. Verify by moving the bar up and down at the end to confirm it is locked. Disengaging: Swing the spring bar parallel to the bumper — this movement disengages the locking device and allows the bar to be lifted out of the socket. When to replace: If the spring bar no longer locks securely when inserted, or if it fails to release cleanly when swung to the parallel position, the locking device hardware likely needs replacement.
The 48748 is specifically for the Eaz-Lift ReCurve R6 weight distribution hitch. It is not compatible with the ReCurve R3 or with Eaz-Lift's older round bar weight distribution hitches, which use different locking device hardware.
