JR Products QCC1 to 1/4" MPT OEM Replacement

JR Products 07-31545 -- 15 in. OEM Propane Pigtail Hose

A direct OEM replacement pigtail hose for RV propane systems. QCC1 Type 1 inlet threads onto standard LP cylinder valves; 1/4-inch male pipe thread outlet connects directly to your rig's propane regulator or distribution manifold. Thermoplastic construction rated for LP service.

Replace Your Worn or Leaking Propane Pigtail the Right Way

Propane pigtail hoses are the flexible link between your LP cylinders and the regulator that feeds every propane appliance in your RV -- furnace, water heater, range, and refrigerator. Over time, thermoplastic hoses crack, fittings corrode, and rubber seals harden. When that happens, the right fix is a like-for-like OEM replacement, not a generic hose that may not seat correctly on your Type 1 valve.

The JR Products 07-31545 is engineered as a direct OEM drop-in. At 15 inches, it gives you enough slack to connect a standard 20-lb or 30-lb DOT cylinder to a typical dual-stage or single-stage regulator without kinking or putting stress on the fittings. The QCC1 (Type 1) hand-tight connector threads onto the cylinder valve without tools; the 1/4-inch male pipe thread (MPT) end screws directly into the regulator inlet or a tee fitting on your distribution manifold.

QCC1 Type 1 Inlet

Hand-tight quick-connect fitting threads onto any standard DOT LP cylinder with a Type 1 (CGA-810) valve -- the same valve found on 20-lb and 30-lb portable tanks used across North America.

1/4" MPT Outlet

1/4-inch male pipe thread outlet connects directly to regulators, tee fittings, or manifold inlets that accept standard 1/4-inch NPT female threads -- no adapter required in most OEM applications.

Thermoplastic Hose Body

Flexible thermoplastic construction resists kinking and cracking across a wide temperature range. Designed for LP (propane) service; not for use with natural gas or other fuel gases.

15-Inch Working Length

15 inches of usable hose provides the right amount of slack for standard horizontal tank brackets or upright cylinder holders, keeping the hose clear of heat sources and chassis components.

Where This Hose Is Used

This pigtail hose is commonly found in the following RV propane system configurations:

  • Single-tank systems -- connects one LP cylinder directly to a single-stage or dual-stage regulator mounted on the A-frame or tongue of a travel trailer or fifth wheel.
  • Dual-tank automatic changeover systems -- each cylinder gets its own pigtail hose running to the inlet ports of a two-stage automatic changeover regulator.
  • Manual changeover regulators -- paired pigtail hoses feed each side of a manual changeover assembly; this hose replaces either side.
  • Motorhome LP compartment connections -- used wherever the LP cylinder valve terminates in a QCC1 fitting and the downstream connection is 1/4-inch NPT.

OEM-Quality Fitment

JR Products supplies propane hardware to RV manufacturers as OEM components. This hose is built to the same specification as what was installed at the factory, making it a genuine drop-in replacement rather than an aftermarket workaround. If your original pigtail shows cracking, stiffness, or a failed QCC1 seat, this is the correct replacement part.

QCC1 vs. POL -- Know Which Connector You Have

QCC1 (also called Type 1 or CGA-810) connectors thread on clockwise and hand-tighten without a wrench. POL connectors (older style) use a left-hand thread and require a wrench. This hose -- part 07-31545 -- is QCC1 only. Check your cylinder valve before ordering: if your existing pigtail screws on by hand (clockwise), you have a Type 1 valve and this hose is correct. If your pigtail requires a wrench and tightens counter-clockwise, you have POL and need a different hose.

Propane System Safety Reminders

  • Always leak-test all connections with approved soapy water solution or electronic leak detector after installation -- never use an open flame.
  • Close the LP cylinder valve before disconnecting or replacing any hose.
  • Do not exceed the pressure rating of the hose. Confirm regulator outlet pressure is appropriate for your appliances (typically 11 in. W.C. / 0.4 PSI after the regulator).
  • Inspect pigtail hoses at the start of every season. Replace immediately if you see cracking, brittleness, abrasion, or any hose deformation.
  • This hose is for LP (propane) gas service only. Not rated for natural gas, compressed air, oxygen, or other gases.

Installation and Maintenance Tips

  • Hand-tighten the QCC1 connector firmly onto the cylinder valve -- no wrench needed or recommended on the QCC1 end.
  • Use two wrenches (one to hold the fitting, one to turn the nut) when tightening the 1/4-inch MPT end to avoid twisting the hose body.
  • Apply thread sealant rated for LP gas (yellow PTFE tape or liquid gas-rated sealant) to the 1/4-inch MPT threads. Do not apply sealant to the QCC1 fitting.
  • Route the hose so it is not kinked, not touching sharp edges, and not exposed to direct heat from exhaust or other sources.
  • Store spare pigtail hoses out of UV exposure to maximize service life of the thermoplastic cover.

Important Information

  • LP service only -- this hose is not rated for natural gas, compressed air, oxygen, or any gas other than liquid propane (LP).
  • QCC1 / Type 1 connector only -- verify your cylinder has a Type 1 (CGA-810) valve before installation. This hose will not fit POL-style valves.
  • Leak-test every connection after installation using approved soapy water solution or an electronic propane leak detector. Never test with an open flame.
  • Turn off LP at the cylinder before disconnecting or installing this hose.
  • Inspect annually -- or before every camping season. Replace immediately if the hose shows cracking, stiffness, abrasion through the outer cover, or any sign of damage.
  • Do not over-tighten QCC1 fitting -- QCC1 connectors are designed to seat hand-tight. Excessive torque can damage the soft-seat seal and cause leaks.
