Stop wrestling with a sluggish or dead electric entry step. This complete upgrade kit from Lippert replaces the worn motor, gearbox, control electronics, and door-switch on pre-2006 Kwikee 25 Series steps -- giving you reliable, quiet step operation without replacing the entire step assembly.
Kwikee 25 Series electric steps were factory-installed on a huge range of Class A, Class C, and fifth-wheel RVs built before 2006. After years of outdoor exposure, road vibration, and repeated cycling, the motor, gearbox, and control board are typically the first components to fail -- and they almost always fail together. Lippert engineered the 379804 kit to address all three failure points in a single service event.
Rather than sourcing a motor here, a gearbox there, and hunting down a compatible control board separately, the 379804 bundles an updated IMGL motor/gearbox assembly, the matching 510-series control unit, and a replacement door switch into one confirmed-compatible package. Every component is designed to work together and to mount directly to the existing 25 Series step chassis with no fabrication.
Updated integrated motor/gearbox unit replaces the original drive assembly on 25 Series steps. Direct bolt-on fit to existing step chassis.
Matched 510 control board included. Governs extend/retract logic, timing, and door-interlock function for the 25 Series platform.
Replacement door-actuated switch ships in the box. The door switch is a frequent wear item on high-cycle steps and is often the root cause of step malfunctions.
Engineered specifically for Kwikee 25 Series steps manufactured before 2006. Verify your step series and manufacture date before ordering.
This kit contains every component needed to restore the electric drive system of a Kwikee 25 Series step:
Hardware and step treads are not included. The kit addresses the motor, gearbox, control electronics, and door switch only. The existing step linkage, tread plates, and mounting brackets are reused.
Full step assembly replacements require matching the step width, number of treads, and mounting bolt pattern to your specific coach cutout -- a job that often involves cutting and resealing. If your step frame and linkage are mechanically sound, replacing only the drive system with kit 379804 is faster, less invasive, and preserves the original factory fitment.
Kwikee manufactured several step series -- 24, 25, 26, and others -- that look similar but use different motor mounting configurations and control boards. Using the wrong kit will result in incompatible connectors or a motor that does not seat correctly in the gearbox housing.
The 510 control unit connects to the existing 12V DC wiring harness in your RV. In most installations the factory connectors plug directly into the new control unit with no splicing. The door switch uses the same two-wire circuit as the original. Confirm connector types during disassembly before cutting any wiring.
Part 379804 is NOT compatible with Kwikee 24 Series, 26 Series, or any post-2006 25 Series steps. Using an incompatible motor/gearbox assembly can damage the step linkage. If you are unsure of your step series, locate the Kwikee identification label on the step frame or motor housing before purchasing.
