Length selection: 6 feet is appropriate for most standard bumper-pull trailers with a normal-length tongue. For 5th wheel or gooseneck trailers with a longer run from the trailer's electrical junction to the pigtail end, or for trailers with longer tongues, consider the A10-7W8 (8 foot) or A10-7W10 (10 foot). Wire configuration note: The A10-7W6 uses a 10/2, 12/1, 14/4 wire gauge configuration â the heavier gauge wires (10 AWG) carry the higher-current circuits (battery charging/auxiliary and electric brakes), while the lighter gauges serve the lower-current lighting circuits.
Replacing a Damaged Trailer Plug or Wiring New: 1. Disconnect Trailer: Ensure the trailer is disconnected from the tow vehicle and the battery is disconnected before beginning any wiring work 2.
