JensenWaterproof / UV ResistantSet of 2Jensen MS5006BR Dual Cone Waterproof Outdoor Speakers -- 6-Inch, Black, Set of 2

Engineered for life outdoors, the Jensen MS5006BR delivers clear, balanced audio in rain, humidity, and direct sun. A Mylar tweeter and polypropylene woofer work together to reproduce crisp highs and fuller bass than a standard full-range cone -- making these a proven upgrade for RV exterior bays, boat decks, patios, and campsite awning setups.

Full-Range Sound Built to Survive the Elements

Most outdoor speakers sacrifice audio quality for weather resistance. The MS5006BR avoids that trade-off with a true dual-cone design: the polypropylene woofer handles mid and low frequencies while the nested Mylar tweeter takes over in the upper range. The result is a 79 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response from a compact 6-inch speaker that earns its keep on a weekend rally or a full-season boondocking trip.

The housing is molded from UV-stabilized, corrosion-resistant plastic certified to ASTM B117 (salt-spray) and ASTM D4329 (UV exposure) standards -- the same certifications used to qualify marine and outdoor enclosures for long-term sun and salt exposure. Built-in drip edges channel water away from the cone and basket, reducing the risk of pooling moisture that degrades voice coils over time.

Dual-Cone Design

Mylar tweeter nested in a polypropylene woofer splits frequencies for cleaner highs and more defined bass than a single full-range cone.

ASTM-Certified Housing

UV and salt-spray tested to ASTM B117 and D4329 -- rated for marine deck, RV exterior, and open patio installations.

Built-In Drip Edges

Molded water channels redirect rain and splash away from the driver, protecting the voice coil and extending speaker life.

Simple Bolt-On Install

Standard 3-3/4-inch center-to-center mounting pattern. Drop-in fit for common RV and marine speaker cutouts with basic tools.

Installation and Fitment Notes

Each speaker requires a 4-3/8-inch diameter cutout with a minimum depth of 1-1/2 inches behind the mounting surface. The overall speaker diameter is 6 inches with an overall depth of 2-1/4 inches. The 5-1/4-inch woofer basket mounts on a 3-3/4-inch center-to-center bolt pattern, which aligns with many factory RV exterior speaker openings and standard marine speaker rings.

Common Drop-In Replacement: The 4-3/8-inch cutout and 3-3/4-inch bolt pattern make these a straightforward replacement for many OEM 5.25-inch and 6-inch outdoor speaker locations found on Forest River, Keystone, Coachmen, and similar production RVs that use Jensen or compatible aftermarket speakers from the factory.
Wiring Note: These are passive speakers -- no built-in amplifier. They require connection to an existing head unit, receiver, or amplifier. At 4 ohms impedance and 86 dB sensitivity, they are compatible with most standard RV and marine stereo head units rated for 4-ohm loads. Verify your head unit supports 4-ohm speakers before installing.

Recommended Applications

  • RV exterior compartment speakers or awning-area audio
  • Pontoon, deck boat, and bass boat speaker replacements
  • Patio enclosure and covered outdoor entertainment areas
  • Cargo trailer interior or utility bay audio
  • Golf cart and UTV overhead speaker installs
Maintenance Tip: Periodically inspect the drip edge channels and wipe away debris, pollen, or mineral deposits that can trap moisture against the grille. A rinse with fresh water after salt-air exposure helps preserve the housing finish and grille screen long-term.
Pair With: For best results in an RV exterior install, pair these with a Jensen or compatible marine-grade head unit rated 15-30 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms. Exceeding 30 watts peak input can damage the voice coil.

Important Information
  • Mounting hardware is NOT included -- use appropriate stainless or corrosion-resistant fasteners for marine and exterior RV installs.
  • Maximum power input is 30 watts peak. Sustained power above rated limits will damage the voice coil and void the warranty.
  • These are passive 4-ohm speakers. Confirm your head unit or amplifier supports a 4-ohm load before connecting.
  • Not intended for fully submerged use. Waterproof rating covers rain, splash, and high-humidity environments only.
  • Cutout must be at least 4-3/8 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches deep. Measure your existing opening before ordering to confirm fit.
  • UV and corrosion resistance ratings apply to the housing only. Extended direct water contact on cone edges or terminals is not recommended without a properly sealed install.

How to Measure for Proper Speaker Fit

When installing a new speaker or replacing an old one, you’ll need to know two key measurements:

  • Cut-out diameter – This is the size of the hole required for the speaker to sit flush against the wall or ceiling.

  • Mounting depth – This is the amount of space needed behind the surface to accommodate the speaker’s frame and magnet.

Getting these measurements right ensures a secure fit and proper performance.
