A purpose-built solid steel shank for Equal-i-zer sway control and weight distribution hitches that are sold without a shank. With a 4" drop, 8" rise, and 12" shank length, this unit fits standard 2" receiver tubes and handles up to 14,000 lbs GTW and 1,400 lbs tongue weight -- covering the full capacity range of the most popular Equal-i-zer head units.
Weight distribution hitches only work correctly when your coupler, ball mount, and receiver are properly aligned. A shank with the wrong drop or rise forces your hitch head to compensate -- reducing sway control effectiveness and putting uneven stress on the frame. The Equal-i-zer 14-2930 is engineered specifically for Equal-i-zer head units, with the correct mounting hole pattern, spacing, and steel grade to handle the four-point sway control system at full rated capacity.
This shank is the right choice when your Equal-i-zer hitch was purchased as a head-only unit, when your original shank was lost or damaged, or when you are upgrading from a lighter shank to one rated for the full 14,000 lb GTW range.
Solid steel construction with a dipped painted, corrosion-resistant finish -- built to withstand road grime, moisture, and the constant stress of weight distribution loads.
Rated to 14,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 1,400 lbs tongue weight -- matching the capacity ceiling of the 90-00-1400 Equal-i-zer head unit.
Six mounting holes spaced 1-1/4" apart provide the adjustment range needed to dial in proper hitch head angle across a wide variety of tow vehicles and trailer combinations.
Manufactured domestically to Equal-i-zer's quality standards. Backed by a limited 90-day manufacturer warranty.
This shank is confirmed compatible with the following Equal-i-zer weight distribution head units:
It is not a universal shank. It is designed for Equal-i-zer four-point sway control head units only, and requires a standard 2" receiver tube on the tow vehicle. Verify your receiver size before ordering -- 1-7/8" and 2-5/16" receivers are not compatible without an adapter sleeve.
This shank provides 4" of drop from the receiver center to the hitch head mounting position, and 8" of rise in the opposite orientation. To determine which orientation you need:
