The Steele Rubber Products 90-3580-240 is a 5/8" wide dense EPDM rubber insert trim designed to fit and lock into 1/2" tracks and moldings found on RVs, marine vessels, and utility vehicles. It is the ideal replacement for the original vinyl trim that degrades, shrinks, fades, and cracks over time — upgrading to a proprietary EPDM rubber compound that significantly outlasts vinyl and plastic alternatives.
The insert trim snaps securely into the screw track channel, covering exposed fasteners on exterior wall paneling, window frames, and body trim for a clean, finished appearance. It also shields the attachment hardware from moisture, UV exposure, and the elements. Installation requires no adhesive — align one side of the trim groove to the edge of the track, press into place, then use a plastic tuck tool to seat the remaining side along the full length of the track. Cut to fit exactly with no concern for shrinkage.

This insert trim is designed to fit 1/2" tracks and moldings only. Before ordering, measure your existing track opening width to confirm compatibility. If your track is a different size (such as 3/4"), a different insert trim profile will be required. What You Need: No adhesive required. Recommended tools: plastic tuck tool or trim tool, tape measure, scissors or utility knife. Basic Installation Steps: 1. Remove Old Trim: Carefully pull out the existing vinyl or rubber insert trim from the screw track channel 2. Clean the Track: Remove any residue, dirt, or debris from the track channel for a clean seating surface 3. Measure & Cut: Measure the run and cut the insert trim to exact length — no shrinkage allowance needed with EPDM rubber 4. Seat One Side: Align the groove on one side of the insert trim to the edge of the track and press into place along the full length 5. Tuck the Remaining Side: Using a plastic tuck tool (not a sharp tool — do not use a screwdriver), gently press the remaining side of the trim into the track channel along the full length 6. Trim & Finish: Press the last section firmly into place and confirm the trim is fully seated and flush along the entire run
