Suburban Mfg High Pressure LP 72" Length Suburban DCRLP-PT72HP High Pressure Propane Hose -- 72", 1/4" ID, 3/8" FPT x 3/8" Female Flare Swivel

A purpose-built high pressure propane hose from Suburban, engineered to connect an LP tank to a two-stage regulator. At 72 inches (6 feet), it gives you enough working length to route cleanly through a standard RV propane compartment without straining fittings or kinking the hose. Thermal protection and proper end fittings make this a drop-in-ready replacement or upgrade for Suburban-equipped rigs.

Reliable High Pressure LP Connection for Your RV

Propane hoses on the high pressure side of the system -- between the tank and the two-stage regulator -- handle full tank pressure before it is stepped down. That means the hose must be rated and built for the job. Suburban's DCRLP-PT72HP uses a reinforced 1/4" ID high pressure hose body with properly sized fittings on each end so there is no guesswork about thread compatibility at installation.

One end terminates in a 3/8" female pipe thread (FPT) fitting, and the opposite end is a 3/8" female flare swivel. The swivel connection allows the hose to be tightened without twisting the hose body, reducing stress on the assembly over years of connection and disconnection cycles. Thermal protection along the hose body guards against heat sources common in tight RV propane bays.

Swivel Flare End

3/8" female flare swivel prevents hose twist during tightening, protecting the hose and fittings from fatigue stress.

Female Pipe Thread End

3/8" FPT inlet mates directly to standard LP tank service valves and regulator inlet ports without adapters.

Thermal Protection

Factory-applied thermal protection sleeve guards the hose body against ambient heat in enclosed propane compartments.

Generous Length

72" (6 ft) gives enough slack for clean routing in most RV propane bays without pulling tight at connection points.

Fitment and Application

This hose is designed for use on the high pressure side of the propane system -- specifically the run from the LP tank service valve to the inlet of a two-stage regulator. It is a common service part on Suburban-equipped RVs including units with Suburban furnaces, water heaters, and range appliances sharing a common propane supply. It is not intended for use downstream of the regulator on low pressure appliance lines.

Direct Replacement: Replaces OEM Suburban part LP-PT72HP (Vendor Part # DCRLP-PT72HP). If your existing high pressure hose shows cracking, brittleness, or damaged fittings, this is the correct factory-spec replacement.

Installation Notes

When installing, apply an LP-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape to the FPT end threads (not the flare end -- flare seats seal metal-to-metal). Hand-tighten the flare swivel first, then snug with a wrench. Do not overtighten flare fittings. After installation, perform a leak check with soapy water or a dedicated LP leak detector solution before lighting any appliances.

Heads Up: This is a high pressure propane hose. It must only be used on the tank-to-regulator segment of the LP system. Do not use this hose on the low pressure (post-regulator) appliance side. Always verify fitting compatibility with your existing regulator and tank valve before installation.
Maintenance Tip: Inspect LP hoses at least once per season and before any extended trip. Look for cracking in the outer jacket, kinks near the fittings, corrosion on the brass ends, or any signs of abrasion where the hose contacts the compartment wall. Replace at the first sign of deterioration -- do not wait for a visible leak.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This hose is rated for high pressure LP service only. Use only between the tank and the two-stage regulator -- do not install on the low pressure appliance side of the regulator.
  • Turn off the tank valve and ensure all appliances are off before disconnecting or installing any propane hose.
  • Apply LP-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape to the FPT threads only. Never apply sealant to a flare fitting seat -- flare connections seal on metal-to-metal contact.
  • After installation, perform a full leak check with soapy water or LP leak detector solution before restoring gas supply to appliances.
  • Do not use this hose if the outer jacket shows cracking, cuts, abrasion, or hardening. Replace immediately.
  • Ensure the hose is routed without sharp bends or kinks and is not in contact with surfaces that could cause chafing during travel.
  • This hose is intended for Suburban system replacements. Verify thread compatibility with your specific tank valve and regulator before installation.
