Flame King CSA Certified QCC1 / ACME x 1/4" Inverted Flare E15INPT -- 15-Inch Propane Pigtail Hose

A direct, no-adapter connection between a standard Type 1/QCC1 propane cylinder and any regulator with a 1/4-inch inverted flare inlet. Built with a braided stainless jacket and rated for outdoor RV, trailer, and portable appliance service.

The Right Pigtail -- No Adapters, No Guesswork

The Flame King E15INPT is a 15-inch propane supply hose designed to connect a QCC1 (Type 1) propane cylinder -- the standard tank used on most travel trailers, 5th wheels, and portable grills -- to a regulator or manifold with a 1/4-inch inverted flare (POL-style) inlet. The ACME left-hand threaded nut on the tank end tightens quickly by hand; no wrench needed on that side. The inverted flare fitting on the regulator end threads in with a standard wrench.

At 15 inches, this hose is the most common pigtail length for dual-cylinder manifold setups, where two tanks are plumbed to an automatic changeover regulator mounted between them on the tongue. It also works as a single-tank supply line wherever the tank sits close to the regulator.

QCC1 / Type 1 Tank End

ACME left-hand threaded nut fits all standard 20 lb, 30 lb, and larger DOT cylinders with a Type 1 valve outlet.

1/4" Inverted Flare Outlet

Male 1/4-inch inverted flare fitting connects directly to compatible regulators and manifold inlets -- no adapters required.

Stainless Braided Jacket

Outer braid resists abrasion, UV, and road debris. Suitable for permanent mounting on trailer tongues and outdoor cabinet installations.

CSA Certified

Tested and listed to CSA standards for LP gas hose connectors used in recreational vehicle and outdoor applications.

Common Applications

This pigtail is the standard supply line used in these RV and outdoor setups:

  • Dual-cylinder automatic changeover regulator manifolds (one pigtail per tank)
  • Single-stage and two-stage RV regulators with 1/4-inch inverted flare inlets
  • Travel trailer and 5th wheel propane systems plumbed from tongue-mounted tanks
  • Portable outdoor appliances (heaters, turkey fryers, construction heaters) with 1/4-inch flare inlets
  • Replacement for OEM pigtails that have aged, kinked, or corroded

Fitting Compatibility Check

The tank end (ACME/QCC1) fits all standard Type 1 cylinder valves -- the same connection used on most 20 lb barbecue tanks and RV propane cylinders sold in North America. The regulator end (1/4-inch inverted flare) fits regulators and manifolds that accept a male inverted flare, including most Marshall Excelsior, Cavagna, and Rego-style RV changeover regulators. If your regulator has a POL (left-hand external thread) inlet instead, this hose does not fit directly -- you would need a POL-to-inverted-flare adapter or a different pigtail.

QCC1 vs. POL -- Which Do You Have?

QCC1 (Type 1) is the modern standard. The fitting has a large plastic or brass ACME nut that threads onto the outside of the cylinder valve. POL is the older standard -- a brass plug with left-hand external threads that screws into the cylinder valve. Most cylinders manufactured after 1998 use QCC1. If your tank has a recessed valve with a handwheel, it is almost certainly QCC1 and this hose is the correct fit.

Hose Age and Inspection

Propane hoses should be inspected before each season and replaced every 5-10 years regardless of visible condition. Check for cracks in the hose body, corrosion at the fittings, and any signs of kinking. A hose that has been pinched, driven over, or exposed to extended direct flame contact should be replaced immediately -- do not attempt to repair a propane hose.

Installation Tips

  • Hand-tighten the ACME nut onto the cylinder valve -- do not use a wrench on the QCC1 end.
  • Use a wrench to snug the 1/4-inch inverted flare fitting at the regulator inlet. Inverted flare connections do not use pipe thread tape or pipe dope.
  • After connecting, test all joints with a propane leak detector solution or electronic sniffer before lighting any appliances.
  • Route the hose to avoid contact with sharp edges, exhaust heat sources, or areas where it could be pinched by compartment doors.
  • When storing the rig, close the cylinder valve -- do not rely on the regulator or appliance valves alone.

Important Information

  • For use with LP (propane) gas only. Do not use with natural gas or other fuels.
  • The QCC1 ACME nut is hand-tightened only -- do not use a wrench or over-torque the tank-end fitting.
  • Inverted flare connections must never be sealed with PTFE tape or pipe dope -- the seal is metal-to-metal only.
  • Always perform a leak test with approved leak detector solution or an electronic gas sniffer after any connection is made.
  • Do not use if the hose shows any signs of cracking, kinking, corrosion, or damage. Replace immediately.
  • Keep hose away from open flame, hot exhaust, and sharp chassis edges during routing and operation.
  • This hose is rated for outdoor and RV applications. Do not use for permanent underground burial or inside enclosed living spaces without proper ventilation provisions per your RV manufacturer guidelines.
  • Close cylinder valve when the RV or appliance is not in use and before travel.
