SuperSteer SS451 Rear Trac Bar For 2021+ Ford E350/E450 V8 Chassis

End the "tail wagging the dog" sensation with this heavy-duty rear trac bar engineered specifically for the new 2021+ Ford E350/E450 7.3L V8 chassis. No more white-knuckle driving in crosswinds or when passing trucks.

Why Choose the SuperSteer SS451 Rear Trac Bar?

Almost every Class B and Class C motorhome owner has experienced that uneasy feeling when the steering wheel is turned suddenly - a swinging motion that threatens your control over the vehicle. The SuperSteer SS451 Rear Trac Bar puts an end to that "Tail Wagging the Dog" sensation, greatly improving stability and driver confidence on the road.

This suspension stabilizer attaches at one end to your motorhome's frame and the other end to the rear axle, preventing unwanted side-to-side motion. By eliminating uncontrolled lateral shift of the rear axle, the SS451 dramatically reduces rear tail wag and sway that causes oversteering and constant correction. With your rear suspension stabilized, steering becomes more responsive, controlled, and predictable - transforming nerve-wracking highway driving into a confident, relaxed experience.

🚫 CRITICAL COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION - READ BEFORE ORDERING

This SS451 trac bar ONLY fits the NEW 2021+ Ford E350/E450 V8 Chassis (7.3L engine).

DOES NOT FIT:
• Thor Quantum motorhomes
• Thor Chateau motorhomes
• Coaches with airbag suspension systems
• Coaches with additional frame bracing
• 2020 and older E350/E450 with V10 engine
• 2021+ E350/E450 with V10 engine (uses different brake line routing)

If you have a V10 engine or 2020 and older chassis, you need either the SS450 (if your RV has a factory rear sway bar with welded mounts) or the SS402 (if your RV does NOT have a factory rear sway bar).

Note: Some Jayco coaches with Hellwig Overload Springs installed may require shifting the spring bracket rearward for proper clearance of the frame bracket.

⚠️ Before You Order - Verify Your Chassis

Chassis model year may differ from RV model year. A 2022 model year motorhome may be built on a 2021 chassis. Always verify your actual chassis year and engine type before ordering.

How to Verify:
1. Check the certification label on the driver's door jamb or inside the driver's door
2. Look for the chassis model year (not the RV model year)
3. Confirm you have a 7.3L V8 engine (not a V10)
4. Verify your chassis is E350 or E450

If you're uncertain about compatibility, check with your RV dealer or contact SuperSteer customer support at 888-898-3281 before ordering.

🚐 Why Upgrade To A SuperSteer Rear Trac Bar?

Many Class B and Class C motorhome owners accept poor handling as "normal" for their vehicle - but it doesn't have to be that way. The SuperSteer SS451 Rear Trac Bar is one of the most effective and affordable upgrades you can make to transform your driving experience.

Common Problems This Solves:
• Constant steering corrections to stay in your lane
• Rear end swaying left and right when passing trucks
• Feeling pushed around by crosswinds
• White-knuckle driving on highways
• Driver fatigue from constant corrective steering
• Poor handling in emergency lane changes
• Difficulty maintaining straight-line stability

After installation, most owners report dramatically improved confidence, reduced driver fatigue, and a much more enjoyable driving experience. It's the difference between fighting your motorhome and truly enjoying your travels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I know if my Ford E450 has the V8 or V10 engine?

A: The easiest way is to look at the engine itself - V8 engines have 8 spark plugs arranged in two rows of 4, while V10 engines have 10 spark plugs in two rows of 5. You can also check your vehicle registration, owner's manual, or the certification label on the driver's door jamb which will list engine displacement. The 7.3L V8 was introduced in 2021 as Ford's replacement for the 6.8L V10 in E-Series chassis. If your chassis is 2021 or newer with a V8, this SS451 is correct. If you have any V10 engine (2021+ or older), you need either the SS450 or SS402 depending on whether you have a factory rear sway bar.

Q: Will this trac bar fit my 2022 Winnebago Travato built on an E450 chassis?

A: It depends on your actual chassis model year and engine type, not your RV model year. A 2022 model year Winnebago might be built on either a 2021 or 2022 chassis. Check the certification label on your driver's door jamb - it will show the chassis manufacture date and engine type. If the chassis is labeled as 2021 or newer AND has a 7.3L V8 engine, then yes, the SS451 will fit. The Travato is available on both E350 and E450 chassis with this engine, and the SS451 fits both. However, if your specific Travato has a V10 engine, you would need the SS450 or SS402 instead. Always verify your actual chassis year and engine type before ordering.

Q: Can I install this myself or do I need a professional mechanic?

A: If you're comfortable working under your vehicle with basic hand tools, have jack stands and proper safety equipment, and can follow detailed instructions, this is a manageable DIY project. The trac bar bolts into existing factory mounting holes, so no drilling or welding is required. SuperSteer estimates approximately 1.5 hours for installation. The most important aspects are: properly supporting the vehicle with jack stands (never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack), ensuring you have clearance between the trac bar and brake lines (use zip ties to secure lines away from the bar), and torquing all bolts to the specifications in the instructions. If you're not experienced with suspension work or don't have proper equipment, professional installation at an RV service center is recommended for safety and warranty purposes.

Q: I have a Thor Quantum - the description says it doesn't fit. Is there any way to make it work?

A: Thor Quantum and Thor Chateau motorhomes can use the SS451 trac bar, but they require an alternate frame mounting bracket due to differences in frame construction and bracing. This is typically offered as an option when ordering from retailers who stock SuperSteer products. The alternate bracket accommodates the unique frame geometry of these models. Contact SuperSteer directly at 888-898-3281 to confirm which bracket option you need for your specific Thor model and year. Do not attempt to install the standard SS451 kit on a Thor Quantum or Chateau without the proper alternate bracket, as it will not fit correctly.

Q: How much difference will I actually notice after installing this trac bar?

A: The improvement is typically dramatic and immediately noticeable. Most owners report that the trac bar completely eliminates the "tail wagging the dog" sensation they experienced before. Specifically, you'll notice: significantly reduced rear end sway when passing or being passed by large trucks, much better stability in crosswinds, far less need for constant steering corrections to maintain your lane position, more predictable and controlled handling in turns, improved confidence during emergency lane changes, and substantially reduced driver fatigue on long trips. One customer review on SuperSteer's website said it best: "Each pass of a semi would give me 1/4 mile of steering right-left-right... After adding this Track Bar, the snake-steering exercise became a thing of the past. My driving stints have honestly doubled!" The trac bar is one of the highest-impact, best-value upgrades you can make to your motorhome.

Q: Will this void my motorhome or chassis warranty?

A: No, installing a rear trac bar should not void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers by stating that manufacturers cannot void your entire warranty just because you installed an aftermarket part - they can only deny claims if they can prove the aftermarket part directly caused the failure. The SuperSteer SS451 is a bolt-on suspension stabilizer that uses existing factory mounting points and does not modify the chassis in any permanent way. It's a suspension enhancement, not a modification. Many RV dealers actually recommend or install SuperSteer products themselves. That said, we always recommend keeping your installation receipts and having the installation performed by a qualified technician if you have any concerns. If your motorhome is still under warranty, you can also contact your dealer beforehand to discuss the installation - many will approve it without issue.
