Every fall, RV owners face the same chore: pushing antifreeze through every water line, faucet, toilet, and trap before temperatures drop. The traditional method -- using a hand pump or blowing lines with an air compressor -- is slow and easy to miss a section. The Valterra P23506LFVP changes the process entirely.
This kit installs permanently next to your existing fresh-water pump inside the RV. A bypass tee with 1/2 in. male threads is spliced into the pump's inlet line. A 34 in. pickup hose with a 1/2 in. female connector threads onto that tee. When it is time to winterize, you simply disconnect the fresh-water tank supply and plug in the pickup hose, then drop the free end into a gallon of RV-grade antifreeze. Turn on the pump, open faucets one at a time, and the pump draws antifreeze through every line automatically -- no hand pumping, no guessing.
Mount the bypass tee once and leave it. Each winter you simply connect the pickup hose to the tee -- no re-plumbing required year after year.

The bypass tee and connectors are sized for 1/2 in. piping -- the standard thread size used on most RV fresh-water pump inlet ports and supply lines.
All connections use threaded hand-tight fittings. Teflon tape is included in the kit for a proper seal without needing wrenches or pipe cutters.
Unlike clip-on or temporary adapters, the P23506LFVP bypass tee is meant to stay in place all year. During normal travel season, the fresh-water tank supply line remains connected as usual. The pickup hose is only swapped in during winterization or de-winterization. This makes the kit work equally well in both directions -- you can use the pump to flush antifreeze back out in the spring.
This kit does not include RV antifreeze. Use only RV-grade non-toxic propylene glycol antifreeze rated for potable water systems -- typically pink-colored and labeled safe for drinking water lines. Do not use automotive ethylene glycol antifreeze in RV water systems.
The P23506LFVP is compatible with virtually any RV 12V demand water pump that uses standard 1/2 in. threaded inlet and outlet ports, including common brands like SHURflo, Flojet, and similar aftermarket pumps. The 1/2 in. thread size is the industry standard for most Class A, Class B, Class C, fifth-wheel, and travel trailer fresh-water systems built in the last several decades.
If your RV was plumbed with 3/8 in. barb fittings instead of 1/2 in. NPT threads, you will need a 3/8 in. barb-to-1/2 in. NPT adapter (sold separately) before installing this kit.
In the spring, you can reverse the process. Leave the pickup hose connected to the bypass tee, drop it into a jug of fresh water, and run the pump to flush antifreeze residue from the lines before reconnecting to your fresh-water tank. This helps clear the pink color and any antifreeze taste faster than running the tank alone.
