VersaHaul V-Strap Motorcycle Kit

Complete tie-down system with ratchet, cam-buckle, and closed-loop straps. Heavy-duty 1" x 6' straps rated for 3,000 lbs. Keeps your motorcycle safe and secure during transport.

Product Overview

The VersaHaul V-Strap Motorcycle Kit is a comprehensive tie-down solution designed to provide maximum flexibility and security when transporting your motorcycle on a VersaHaul carrier, trailer, or truck bed. This professional-grade kit combines three different types of tie-down straps - ratchet straps for maximum tension control, cam-buckle straps for quick adjustments, and closed-loop straps for versatile attachment options - giving you the right tool for every securing situation.

Engineered for durability and ease of use, each heavy-duty strap features 1" wide webbing constructed to handle the demands of motorcycle transport. The 6-foot length provides ample reach for most mounting configurations, while the plastic-coated hooks protect your motorcycle's finish and perform reliably in all weather conditions. With a 3,000 lb working load rating, these straps provide the strength and security you need to confidently transport motorcycles, dirt bikes, scooters, and ATVs.

🔧 Usage Instructions & Safety Information

Understanding The Three Strap Types:

1. Ratchet Straps (2 included):
Ratchet straps provide the highest level of tension control and are ideal for primary motorcycle securing points. The ratcheting mechanism allows you to incrementally tighten the strap to achieve precise, maximum tension. Best used for main compression points on the motorcycle's suspension (handlebars or forks). The ratchet mechanism locks the strap at your desired tension and won't loosen during transport.

2. Cam-Buckle Straps (2 included):
Cam-buckle straps offer quick adjustment without the risk of over-tightening. The cam mechanism provides secure holding power while being easier to release than ratchet straps. Best used for secondary attachment points or when you want positive tension without compressing the suspension as much. Particularly useful for rear securing points or when you need to make quick adjustments.

3. Closed-Loop Straps (4 included):
Closed-loop straps (also called soft loops) are versatile tie-down extensions that protect delicate motorcycle components. These loops wrap around handlebars, fork tubes, frame rails, or other attachment points, creating a secure anchor point for your ratchet or cam-buckle straps to hook onto. They protect your motorcycle's finish and prevent strap hooks from scratching chrome, paint, or other surfaces.

Proper Motorcycle Securing Technique:
1. Position Motorcycle: Center bike on carrier, trailer, or truck bed with front wheel against wheel chock (if equipped)
2. Attach Closed-Loop Straps: Wrap closed-loop straps around handlebars, fork tubes, or frame rails at front securing points
3. Front Securing - Ratchet Straps: Hook ratchet straps to closed-loop straps and anchor points. Tighten gradually, alternating left and right sides to maintain balance
4. Compress Front Suspension: Continue tightening ratchet straps until front suspension is compressed approximately 1-2 inches (this stabilizes the bike)
5. Rear Securing - Cam-Buckle Straps: Attach cam-buckle straps to rear attachment points (frame, passenger pegs, or swingarm). Tighten to stabilize but do NOT over-compress rear suspension
6. Final Check: Ensure motorcycle is stable, vertical, and cannot rock side-to-side. All straps should be tight with no slack

Important Safety Guidelines:
ALWAYS use 4 tie-down straps minimum (2 front, 2 rear) for proper motorcycle security
Front suspension should be compressed 1-2 inches when properly secured
Check strap tension after first 50 miles of transport - straps may settle and require retightening
Inspect straps before each use for fraying, cuts, or damage - replace damaged straps immediately
Never exceed 3,000 lb working load rating per strap
Use closed-loop straps to protect delicate motorcycle surfaces from hook scratches
Alternate tightening sides to keep motorcycle vertical and balanced
Do not over-tighten rear straps - this can damage rear suspension or cause instability

Ratchet Strap Operation:
To Tighten: Pull excess strap through ratchet mechanism, then pump ratchet handle to incrementally increase tension
To Release: Pull release lever (usually on top of ratchet) to open mechanism, then pull strap to loosen
Pro Tip: Always leave 6-12 inches of excess strap fed through ratchet for safety margin

Cam-Buckle Strap Operation:
To Tighten: Pull strap through cam-buckle until desired tension is achieved
To Release: Pull cam lever to open mechanism, then pull strap to loosen
Pro Tip: Cam-buckles are self-locking when tension is applied - no additional locking mechanism needed
