600 lb capacity for 3-wheel trikes and scooters. 71.5" rails, 3 loading ramps, 8 tie-down loops. Reversible rails. Class III/IV hitch. Made in USA.
The VersaHaul VH-TRIKE is a specialized carrier designed specifically for transporting 3-wheel motorcycles, trikes, and scooters. This heavy-duty carrier features a unique three-rail design with one center VH-55 rail (6.375" wide) and two outer VH-90 rails (9.25" wide) to accommodate the wider stance and weight distribution of three-wheeled vehicles. With a 600 lb total capacity (500 lbs maximum on center rail), 71.5" rail length, and 50" main tube, the VH-TRIKE provides the stable platform needed for safe trike transport.
The carrier includes three loading ramps (one center ramp: 57.5" x 5.5", two outer ramps: 60" x 10") for easy loading from ground level. Rails can be reversed to allow loading access from either the driver or passenger side of your vehicle. The VH-TRIKE comes complete with an extended wheel stop, 8 tie-down loops for secure attachment, anti-tilt lock bracket, and reflectors. Constructed from heavy-duty 14-gauge steel with powder coat finish and weighing 205 lbs, this carrier is intended for large trucks and motorhome suspensions. The VH-TRIKE is proudly made in the USA and protected by US Patent (US D554,041 S; 20070052206).
Hitch Requirements: • Class III Hitch: Typically rated for 500 lbs tongue weight • Class IV Hitch: Typically rated for 1,000 lbs tongue weight • Receiver Size: Standard 2" receiver Important Hitch Considerations: • Low Hitches: VersaHaul main tube extends from hitch at the same level. Hitches mounted very low to the ground may not work properly - verify ground clearance. • Recessed Hitches: Will shorten the effective length of the carrier tube. Measure your hitch depth before purchasing. Vehicle Requirements: • Large Trucks: Designed for 3/4-ton and 1-ton trucks with robust suspensions • Motorhomes: Suitable for motorhome chassis with appropriate suspension • 1/2-Ton Trucks: May require air helper springs due to carrier + trike weight CRITICAL: The VH-TRIKE is heavy (205 lbs) and intended for large vehicles. Total tongue weight will be 205 lbs + your trike weight. Always verify your vehicle's tongue weight rating and suspension capabilities before purchasing.
This Complete System Includes: • (1) Anti-Tilt Lock Bracket • (1) 50" Main Tube • (1) Extended Wheel Stop • (8) Tie-Down Loops • (3) Loading Ramps (1 center + 2 outer) • (2) Reflectors • Installation Instructions Carrier Specifications: • Model: VH-TRIKE • Weight: 205 lbs • Capacity: 600 lbs total (500 lbs center rail) • Rail Length: 71.5" • Main Tube: 50"
BEFORE PURCHASING - READ CAREFULLY: Weight Considerations: The VH-TRIKE weighs 205 lbs empty. When loaded with a 600 lb trike, total tongue weight will be approximately 805 lbs. This substantial weight requires: • A vehicle with sufficient towing capacity and suspension to handle this tongue weight • Potentially upgraded suspension (air helper springs) on 1/2-ton trucks • A properly rated Class III (500 lb) or Class IV (1,000 lb) hitch • Large truck or motorhome - NOT suitable for passenger cars, SUVs, or light-duty trucks Hitch Limitations: • Most Class III hitches are rated for only 500 lbs tongue weight - this limits your trike to approximately 295 lbs (500 lb hitch rating - 205 lb carrier weight) • Most Class IV hitches are rated for 1,000 lbs tongue weight - adequate for full 600 lb capacity • Low-mounted hitches may cause ground clearance issues • Recessed hitches will reduce effective carrier length Center Rail Load Limit - CRITICAL: The VH-TRIKE has a total capacity of 600 lbs, but the center rail (VH-55) is limited to only 500 lbs maximum. The outer rails (VH-90) must support any additional weight. Ensure your trike's weight distribution does not exceed 500 lbs on the center rail. IMPORTANT RAMP STORAGE WARNING: The VH-TRIKE does NOT have a place to mount the loading ramps on the carrier. The three ramps must be removed after loading and stored separately in your vehicle. Do NOT leave ramps attached during transport - they can shift and create road hazards. Vehicle Suspension: Your vehicle's suspension capacity is the ultimate limiting factor. Check your vehicle's owner's manual for: • Maximum tongue weight rating • Payload capacity • Rear axle weight rating If your vehicle cannot safely handle 805+ lbs of tongue weight, DO NOT use this carrier.
Download the VersaHaul VH-TRIKE Instruction ManualPre-Installation Requirements: 1. Verify your vehicle's towing capacity and tongue weight rating (must handle 805+ lbs) 2. Confirm you have a Class III or IV hitch with 2" receiver 3. Check hitch height and ensure adequate ground clearance 4. Measure hitch depth if recessed to verify carrier clearance 5. Consider upgrading suspension if using 1/2-ton truck 6. Review complete VH-TRIKE instruction booklet before assembly Assembly & Installation Overview: Assembly involves connecting the 50" main tube to the three carrier rails (one center VH-55 rail + two outer VH-90 rails), installing the anti-tilt lock bracket, positioning the extended wheel stop, and mounting the 8 tie-down loops. Insert assembled carrier into your 2" hitch receiver, secure with hitch pin, and attach reflectors. Due to the carrier's 205 lb weight, two-person installation is strongly recommended. Reversible Rails Feature: The VH-TRIKE's rails can be reversed to allow loading from either the driver or passenger side. Determine which side provides best access in your garage/driveway and configure rails accordingly. Rails can be reconfigured later if you change your preferred loading side. Driving with Loaded Carrier: • Accelerate gradually - 805+ lbs tongue weight affects vehicle handling • Brake earlier - stopping distance increases significantly • Turn carefully - wider turns required due to extended rear length • Watch ground clearance - avoid steep driveways, speed bumps, rough terrain • Monitor constantly - check mirrors frequently to verify cargo remains secure • Stop after 50 miles - retighten all straps as they may settle Important Operating Restrictions: • DO NOT ride trike while loading onto carrier • DO NOT exceed 600 lbs total capacity • DO NOT exceed 500 lbs on center rail • DO NOT leave ramps attached during transport • NEVER exceed your vehicle's tongue weight rating
