The BAL X-Chock is one of the most recognized tandem axle stabilizers in the RV industry — and the 28014 X-Tended Fit is the version built for trailers where the standard model simply won't reach. Instead of pushing against the side of a single tire like a traditional wedge chock, the X-Chock inserts between the two tires on a tandem axle and ratchets outward, applying opposing force to both tires simultaneously. This works with the tires' natural movement rather than against it, dramatically reducing the rocking and swaying that makes a parked trailer uncomfortable.
The X-Tended Fit model addresses a real-world problem: many modern trailer manufacturers — including Bullet, LaCrosse, PrimeTime, Passport, and North Trail — build their frames with up to 15" of spacing between tandem tires. The standard 28010 X-Chock only extends to 10", leaving it unable to engage properly on these wider configurations. The 28014 extends all the way to 17", covering every wide-track axle spacing currently in production.

The X-Chock is a stabilizer, not a safety tire chock. It is designed to reduce sway and rocking on a parked, already-leveled trailer — it should not be used to prevent the trailer from rolling on a slope and is not a substitute for wheel chocks used during leveling. Correct sequence: Level your trailer first using wheel chocks and jacks, then insert the X-Chock between the tandem tires and ratchet it snug. Deploy stabilizing jacks before extending any slide-outs. Power tool caution: Per BAL's instructions, do not use a cordless impact wrench to operate the X-Chock. Use only the included ratchet handle, or a drill with an adjustable chuck set to feel resistance. Impact wrench use can damage the mechanism.
