Before you can hook up shore power correctly, you need to know what system your RV uses.
Your power cord—the cable that exits your RV and connects to the pedestal—tells you which system you have. A 30-amp TT-30 plug looks similar to a heavy-duty dryer cord. A 50-amp SS2-50 plug is larger and heavier, with four prongs. Know which one you have before you arrive at a campsite so you can confirm the pedestal has the right service available.
