The BAL 25037 is the Standard Kingpin Gooseneck Tripod Stabilizer — identical to the 25033 Standard Kingpin Tripod but with a 2-5/16" gooseneck ball adapter included for fifth wheel trailers that are towed using a gooseneck-style hitch rather than a traditional fifth wheel hitch. The adapter secures the tripod to the gooseneck ball coupler while the trailer is parked, allowing the same tripod stabilization system to be used on gooseneck-converted fifth wheel rigs.
The tripod supports the kingpin/overhang area of the fifth wheel from three contact points, eliminating the front-to-back and side-to-side rocking common to parked fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers. Foldable drive screw handles fold down for adjusting the jack to the ground and fold up flat when not in use. Large diameter base pads with heavy-duty chain and hooks provide stable ground contact. Some fifth wheel trailers are towed using a gooseneck hitch with a kingpin adapter rather than a traditional fifth wheel hitch — most commonly on trucks with gooseneck hitch balls instead of a fifth wheel plate. The 25037 is for this configuration. The 2-5/16" adapter included with the 25037 attaches the tripod to the gooseneck ball coupler while the trailer is parked. Without this adapter, the tripod cannot be secured to a gooseneck-style coupler. For standard fifth wheel hitches (not gooseneck): Use the 25033 Standard Kingpin Tripod instead.
