The Cummins Onan 167-0272 is the OEM-specified resistive spark plug for the BGE, BGEL, NHE, NHEL, BGM, NHM, NH RV, and NHL series Onan Emerald and Marquis RV generators — one of the broadest fitment ranges of any Onan spark plug. It is also available as part number 167-0272-99, which is the same plug in Champion-branded packaging.
The resistive design is a required specification for all of these generator models. Using a non-resistive plug can cause the generator to shut down without generating a fault code, making the failure difficult to diagnose. Only Green Label resistive plugs meet Cummins Onan's specifications for these models.

Installing a non-resistive plug — even one with the correct thread, heat range, and gap — can cause the generator to shut down without generating a fault code. This makes the failure appear as an unexplained no-start or shutdown with no diagnostic indication. Always use Cummins Onan Green Label part 167-0272 (or equivalent 167-0272-99) or a confirmed resistive equivalent such as Champion RS17YX. Do not substitute standard non-resistive plugs.
