Solid, rattle-free entry stairs engineered for travel trailers with 26" to 28.9" doorways. The SolidStep system stores completely inside the entry door opening during travel, keeping steps protected from road debris, water, and corrosion -- then deploys to a stable, level platform that stays parallel to the ground on surfaces ranging from 35" to 44" entry height.
Most folding RV steps flex or wobble underfoot. The Lippert SolidStep is built from heavy-gauge black steel with aluminum tread surfaces to eliminate that movement entirely. Each step is horizontal every time -- regardless of ground conditions -- because the parallelogram linkage keeps treads level as the steps deploy.
Adjustable pin-style extendable legs let you fine-tune the stance on gravel, grass, or sloped pads without tools. Two safety latches -- one on each side -- lock the unit securely into the entryway when retracted. A kickplate protects your sidewall and skirt from contact damage during transit.
Folds entirely within the entry door frame during travel, shielding all components from road spray, UV, and corrosion.
Parallelogram linkage keeps each step parallel to the ground as the unit deploys -- reducing slip and trip risk significantly.
Pin-style locking legs extend to accommodate uneven surfaces across the supported 35" to 44" entry height range.
Heavy-gauge steel frame and rigid aluminum treads support up to 400 lbs -- suitable for two adults on the steps simultaneously.
Each kit ships with everything needed for installation into a trailer doorway that already has compatible entry door hardware:
Each aluminum tread includes a rubber strip along the step surface to improve grip in wet or muddy conditions. Combined with the level-deploy linkage, these steps significantly reduce the risk of slipping compared to fixed-angle folding stairs.
The SolidStep installs into existing entry door hardware on compatible travel trailers -- no new door frame fabrication required in most cases. The mounting bracket adjusts from 23" to 31-13/16" wide to span a range of door frame configurations within the 26"--28.9" target doorway width.
An integrated kickplate is built into the assembly to prevent contact damage to your trailer sidewall and skirt when the steps are deployed. This is especially useful at campgrounds where guests or children may lean against the entry area.
