The flexible thermoplastic construction resists kinking, and the crimped brass ferrules eliminate the leak points associated with reusable fittings.

At 12 inches, this pigtail is sized for close-mounted regulator applications -- common on motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and dual-cylinder setups where the regulator mounts directly to or near the tank compartment. The 1/4" male inverted flare outlet is the standard connection point on most two-stage and automatic changeover RV regulators.

Thermal Protection Explained

This pigtail includes built-in thermal protection. In the event of an external flame or heat source near the hose -- such as a tank compartment fire -- the thermal protection activates to shut off or restrict gas flow, limiting the risk of a sustained LP gas feed to the fire source. This is a standard safety feature required on pigtails connected directly to propane cylinders.

High-Flow QCC Type 1 Connector: The QCC1 (Type 1) fitting is the current ACME-thread propane cylinder connection standard used on all cylinders over 4 lbs. capacity in North America. It replaced the older POL fitting and does not require tools to connect -- hand-tighten clockwise to engage the internal valve. The MECMER425-12 is compatible with any standard DOT/ASME propane cylinder using a Type 1 valve.

Fitting Connections Breakdown

Tank end: Female QCC Type 1 (CGA 810) -- connects hand-tight to standard Type 1 propane cylinder valves. Internal excess-flow protection activates the thermal shutoff.
Regulator end: 1/4" male inverted flare (SAE 45-degree inverted flare) -- the standard inlet fitting on most RV LP regulators. Use a wrench to tighten; do not overtighten.
Ferrules: Fully crimped brass at both ends. No field-serviceable fittings; if damaged, replace the hose assembly.

Maintenance Tips:

After connecting, apply approved LP leak-check solution to all fittings and check for bubbles before lighting any appliance.
Route the hose to avoid sharp edges, moving parts, and heat sources. The 12" length works best in tight, controlled routing -- do not force a bend tighter than the hose naturally allows.
Store the pigtail coiled loosely. Avoid kinking or pinching the hose during transport.
Keep the QCC1 fitting cap on the cylinder valve when the hose is disconnected to prevent contamination of the valve seat.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing

This hose is rated for LP (propane) gas service only. Do not use with natural gas, oxygen, or other compressed gases.
Maximum working pressure is 350 PSIG. Never use in high-pressure applications beyond this rating.
The QCC Type 1 connection is for cylinders with Type 1 (ACME-thread) valves only. It is not compatible with older POL-style valves without an adapter.
Inspect the hose before each use. Replace immediately if cracking, stiffness, abrasion damage, corrosion on fittings, or any leak is detected.
Hose assemblies with crimped ferrules are not field-repairable. A damaged hose must be replaced as a complete assembly.
Always perform a leak test with approved LP leak-check solution after installation and before lighting appliances. Do not use an open flame to check for leaks.
Keep LP hoses away from heat sources, open flames, and moving mechanical parts during use and storage.
This product is not intended for high-pressure (first-stage) cylinder-outlet service where pressures may exceed the rated working pressure prior to the regulator.
