Tap into your RV's LP-Gas system -- or a standard portable cylinder -- to fuel portable high-pressure propane appliances without swapping out your main regulator. This two-piece brass kit gives you a clean, safe tee connection with built-in excess-flow protection on both components.
The Marshall Excelsior Stay-Longer Adapter Kit (MER472) is built for RVers who run portable high-pressure propane appliances -- camp stoves, turkey fryers, portable heaters, or outdoor grills -- alongside their rig's built-in LP system. Instead of fumbling with separate small cylinders, you tee off the existing supply line and connect directly.
Both the tee fitting and the hose carry 0.9 GPM excess-flow protection, meaning if the downstream line is cut, disconnected abruptly, or develops a major leak, the excess-flow valve limits gas flow automatically. That is a meaningful safety feature that many generic adapter hoses skip entirely.
Both the ME420 tee and the MER401-60 hose carry 0.9 GPM excess-flow valves for automatic shutoff if a downstream break occurs.
Solid brass fittings on the tee and hose ends resist corrosion and hold up to outdoor temperature swings and UV exposure.
The 5 ft MER401-60 hose includes thermal protection to guard against heat damage near camp stoves, grills, or engine compartments.
Marshall Excelsior manufactures in Marshall, Michigan. The MER472 kit ships assembled and ready for installation with no additional parts required for standard POL-equipped setups.
The MER472 kit ships with exactly two components -- the tee fitting and the hose. Nothing extra is needed for a standard POL-equipped RV cylinder or system connection.
Installation requires no special tools beyond a wrench for POL fittings. POL connections use left-hand (reverse) threads -- turn clockwise to loosen, counter-clockwise to tighten. Apply an LP-rated thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for gas service on any NPT threads; POL hard-nose connections are metal-to-metal seal and do not use tape.
