Flow-Rite 20 Ft Regulated Hose No Pump Required

Flow-Rite BA-MS-320-20 Regulated Battery Watering Hose Supply -- 20 Ft

A straightforward, cost-effective way to water your flooded lead-acid batteries. The BA-MS-320-20 connects directly to any standard water supply and uses a built-in pressure regulator to deliver controlled, accurate fill levels -- no pump, no guesswork, no overfilling. Ideal for RV house battery banks, golf carts, and off-grid setups where a pump-driven system is more than you need.

Precise Battery Watering Without the Pump

Flow-Rite's regulated hose supply systems are designed for flooded lead-acid battery banks that use a single-point watering manifold. The BA-MS-320-20 pairs with Flow-Rite's battery watering systems to fill every cell to the correct level simultaneously -- stopping automatically when each cell reaches its preset fill point.

The 20-foot hose gives you enough reach to work around most RV battery compartments, golf cart bays, or floor-mounted battery banks without repositioning your water source. Because the system is pressure-regulated rather than pump-driven, the hardware cost is lower and there are fewer moving parts to maintain.

Built-In Pressure Regulation

Reduces standard supply pressure to the safe, low range required by Flow-Rite watering valves -- no separate regulator needed.

No Pump Required

Uses standard tap water pressure instead of a pump unit, reducing system cost and eliminating a potential failure point.

20-Foot Reach

Generous hose length handles most RV and golf cart battery compartments without extension hoses or repositioning a water jug.

Fast Fill Times

Regulated flow delivers water quickly and shuts off automatically at the correct level -- no slow drip, no manual checking per cell.

How It Works with Single-Point Watering Systems

The BA-MS-320-20 hose supply attaches to the quick-connect port on a Flow-Rite battery watering manifold. Water flows through the regulated line into each individual cell valve, which snaps shut the instant the electrolyte reaches the correct level. All cells fill simultaneously -- a full bank of 6 to 24 cells typically completes in under 60 seconds once connected.

Pump System vs. Regulated Hose Supply

Flow-Rite offers both pump-operated fill systems (which draw from a standalone water reservoir) and regulated hose supply systems like the BA-MS-320-20. The hose supply is the right choice when you have reliable access to a tap or hose bib at fill time and want to avoid the added cost of a pump unit. If you water batteries in a location without a water hookup, the pump-reservoir system is the better fit.

Water Quality Note

Use only distilled or deionized water when filling flooded lead-acid batteries. Tap water minerals and chlorine contaminate electrolyte and accelerate plate corrosion. The BA-MS-320-20 is a delivery system only -- it does not filter or deionize incoming water.

Battery Maintenance Tips

  • Water batteries after a full charge cycle, not before -- charging expands electrolyte volume and can cause overflow if cells are pre-filled.
  • Inspect the quick-connect fitting for debris or mineral buildup before each use.
  • Store the hose coiled and away from direct sunlight to extend hose life.
  • Check that all cell valves are properly seated in the battery caps before connecting the supply hose.
  • If fill time seems unusually long, check supply pressure and inspect individual cell valves for blockage.

Compatible Flow-Rite Watering System Components

The BA-MS-320-20 is designed to work with Flow-Rite single-point battery watering kits and manifolds. Common compatible system families include the Flow-Rite Pro-Fill and QT series battery watering systems. If your battery bank does not yet have a watering manifold installed, Flow-Rite sells complete kits sized by battery count and battery type (6V, 8V, 12V cells).

Important Information

  • Distilled water only: Never use tap water, softened water, or well water in flooded lead-acid batteries. Minerals and chlorine degrade electrolyte chemistry and shorten battery life significantly.
  • Charge first, then water: Always complete a full charge cycle before adding water. Adding water to a discharged or partially charged battery can cause acid overflow during subsequent charging.
  • Flooded lead-acid batteries only: Do not attempt to use this system with AGM, gel, or lithium batteries. These sealed battery types must never have water added.
  • Manifold required: This hose supply is an accessory -- it delivers water to an already-installed Flow-Rite watering manifold. It does not function as a standalone battery filler without the manifold and cell valves in place.
  • Inspect before use: Check hose, fittings, and quick-connect for cracks or mineral buildup before each watering session. A damaged hose can deliver unregulated pressure to the cell valves.
  • Battery acid hazard: Wear eye protection and chemical-resistant gloves when working around flooded batteries. Electrolyte is dilute sulfuric acid and causes burns on contact with skin or eyes.
