Flow-Rite 5 Gallon Auto-Refill Flow-Rite BA-MS-700 Gravity Feed Tank with Auto-Refill and Mounting Shelf

A purpose-built 5-gallon gravity tank designed for RV battery watering, low-water-pressure zones, and remote fill applications. Includes a steel mounting bracket and a built-in auto-refill float valve so the tank stays topped up without manual intervention.

Steady Water Supply Where Pressure Is Low or Unavailable

The Flow-Rite BA-MS-700 solves a common problem in RVs, service bays, and marine installations: getting a reliable, consistent water supply to battery watering systems or other gravity-fed equipment when line pressure is absent or inadequate. The 5-gallon polyethylene tank sits on its included steel shelf or mounts to a vertical surface, feeding water purely by gravity -- no pump required.

The auto-refill float valve is the standout feature. Connect a standard supply line and the float valve maintains the tank at the set fill level automatically, cutting off flow when full and reopening as water is drawn down. This keeps your battery watering system or other gravity-fed device supplied without constant monitoring or manual top-offs.

5-Gallon Capacity

Enough reserve volume for extended battery watering cycles or remote supply runs without frequent refills.

Auto-Refill Float Valve

Maintains a consistent water level automatically when connected to a supply line -- no manual filling needed.

Dual Installation Options

Shelf-mount or wall-mount using the included steel bracket. Works in battery rooms, utility bays, and tight RV compartments.

Gravity-Fed Operation

No pump, no 12V power draw. Water flows by head pressure alone -- ideal for battery watering systems and low-draw applications.

Ideal Applications

  • RV battery bank watering -- keeps lead-acid cells topped off via a Flow-Rite watering system
  • Remote or off-grid installations where pump power is not available
  • Service bays and golf cart maintenance stations with low or no water pressure
  • Any gravity-fed device needing a small, self-regulating reservoir

How the Auto-Refill System Works

The float valve inside the tank operates like a toilet fill valve: as water level drops, the float descends and opens the inlet, allowing supply water to flow in. When the level reaches the set point, the float rises and closes the valve. This cycle is fully mechanical -- no electricity, no sensors, no programming. Connect a standard 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch supply line (check your specific inlet fitting) to a pressurized source and the tank manages itself.

Mounting and Installation

The included steel mounting bracket is designed to accept the tank securely on a shelf surface or bolt flush to a vertical wall. Mount the tank above the equipment it feeds -- height above the outlet determines your available head pressure. For battery watering systems, positioning the bottom of the tank 12 to 24 inches above the battery tops provides adequate flow through Flow-Rite watering caps. Use the tank outlet fitting to connect to your distribution tubing. All connections should be checked for drips before leaving the installation unattended.

Maintenance Tips

  • Inspect the float valve seat annually for mineral deposits -- flush with white vinegar solution if flow rate drops
  • Check the steel mounting bracket for surface rust if installed in humid or outdoor-adjacent environments; touch up with cold-galvanizing spray as needed
  • Flush the tank interior at the start of each season if used for battery water to prevent algae or sediment buildup
  • Use distilled or deionized water when feeding battery watering systems -- minerals shorten battery life

Pairs With Flow-Rite Battery Watering Systems

The BA-MS-700 is designed as a reservoir companion to Flow-Rite single-point battery watering systems. Pair it with Flow-Rite watering kits for group 24, 27, 31, or golf cart battery banks for a fully hands-off watering solution. The gravity feed eliminates the need for a separate fill pump in most installations.

Important Information

  • This tank operates by gravity only -- it does not pressurize output. Ensure the installation has adequate height above the outlet device for sufficient flow.
  • Use distilled or deionized water in battery watering applications. Tap water minerals can damage battery plates and shorten service life.
  • Inspect all fittings and the float valve connection for leaks before leaving the system unattended, especially on initial installation.
  • The steel mounting bracket may surface-rust in persistently wet environments. Inspect periodically and treat as needed.
  • Battery watering tubing, individual cell caps, and distribution manifolds are sold separately -- this listing covers the tank and bracket assembly only.
  • Do not use this tank for drinking water or potable water supply without confirming material certifications for that application.
