Dinosaur Electronics12V Ignitor Board Tester1-Year WarrantyDinosaur QUIK CHEK Compact Ignitor Board Tester -- Part 02-0241

Stop guessing when your RV furnace, water heater, or refrigerator won't light. The Dinosaur QUIK CHEK gives technicians and DIY RVers a fast, reliable way to confirm whether a 12V ignitor board is the source of the problem -- before ordering a replacement part. Small enough for a glove box or tool bag, and powered by any standard cigarette lighter socket, this tester is one of the most practical diagnostic tools you can carry in your rig.

Pinpoint Ignition Board Failures Without a Shop Visit

RV appliance ignition failures are frustrating and often misdiagnosed. A no-light condition on a furnace, refrigerator, or water heater can point to the gas supply, the ignitor electrode, the sail switch, or the control board itself. The QUIK CHEK isolates the board from the rest of the circuit so you can confirm whether the board is generating the proper ignition signal -- saving you from replacing expensive components unnecessarily.

The tester works with all 12V ignitor boards that do not rely on an external sense wire. Simply plug the unit into your 12V auxiliary outlet or cigarette lighter socket, connect the included test cable to the board under test, and read the results. No multimeter skills required, no wiring diagrams needed for basic go/no-go testing.

Glove-Box Portability

Compact form factor fits in a tool bag, glove box, or service kit. Lightweight enough to carry on every trip.

12V Socket Power

Draws power directly from a standard cigarette lighter or auxiliary outlet -- no batteries to charge or replace.

Wide Brand Compatibility

Tests boards from Atwood, Hydro-Flame, Coleman, Dometic, Servel, Duo-Therm, Norcold, and Suburban appliances.

Includes Test Cable

Comes with the test cable and instructions needed to connect to common RV ignitor board configurations right out of the box.

What the QUIK CHEK Tests

The QUIK CHEK is designed for 12 VDC ignitor boards -- the type used in the majority of RV furnaces, absorption refrigerators, and propane water heaters. These boards control the spark sequence, gas valve signal, and flame-sense feedback loop. When the board fails, the appliance typically locks out after one or more ignition attempts with no visible flame.

  • Furnace control boards -- Atwood, Hydro-Flame, Coleman models
  • Refrigerator ignitor boards -- Dometic, Servel, Duo-Therm, Norcold models
  • Water heater ignitor boards -- Atwood and Suburban gas models
  • Any 12V ignitor board that does not use an external sense wire
Time and Money Saver: Confirm a bad board before purchasing a replacement. A confirmed diagnosis also helps when requesting warranty service from an RV dealer or appliance manufacturer.

Who Should Carry This Tester

The QUIK CHEK is equally useful for full-time RVers who self-service their rigs and for mobile RV technicians who service multiple brands. If you work on or live in an RV with propane appliances, this tester pays for itself the first time it keeps you from replacing a good board.

  • Full-timers and weekend warriors doing their own maintenance
  • Mobile RV service technicians covering multiple appliance brands
  • RV dealers and service centers maintaining a diagnostic toolkit
  • Boondockers who cannot afford an unexpected appliance failure off-grid
External Sense Wire Boards: The QUIK CHEK is designed for standard 12V ignitor boards that do not use an external sense wire. Boards that require an external sense wire signal for flame detection are outside this tester's scope. Check your appliance's board part number against Dinosaur Electronics' compatibility list if you are unsure of your board type.
Maintenance Tip: When diagnosing a no-light condition, rule out gas supply pressure, a fouled ignitor electrode, and a clogged orifice before condemning the board. Use the QUIK CHEK as the final step to confirm the board itself is the fault -- this sequence avoids unnecessary part replacements and speeds up the repair.

Important Information
  • This tester is compatible with 12V ignitor boards ONLY -- not for use with 24V or 120V AC ignition systems.
  • Not compatible with ignitor boards that use an external sense wire for flame detection. Using the tester on an incompatible board type will not produce valid diagnostic results.
  • The QUIK CHEK tests the ignitor board's output signal. It does not test gas valve function, electrode condition, gas supply pressure, or sail switch operation. A passing board result means the board is functioning -- other components in the ignition circuit may still require inspection.
  • Always follow proper propane safety procedures before working on any RV appliance. Turn off the gas supply at the tank before disconnecting any components.
  • Intended for diagnostic use by qualified technicians and experienced DIY service personnel. If you are unsure of the ignition circuit's wiring, consult a certified RV technician before proceeding.
Easy to use:
1.Plug the tester onto the board
2.Hook up the spark wire
3.Plug the tester into the cigarette lighter
4.Wait for the spark
5.Push the flame sense button to check the sense circuit
