This listing is for the manifold body only. The internal fill valve, vent tube, and associated fittings that seat inside the battery cell are not included. The unshrouded manifold exposes the vent tube and fitting without a protective outer collar. This reduces the installed height and clears obstructions above the battery, but it also means the vent path is open to the battery compartment environment. If your installation has adequate ventilation and limited overhead clearance, unshrouded is the correct choice. Flow-Rite makes manifolds for both 6V batteries (2.7-inch cell spacing) and 8V batteries (different spacing). The BA-1FT-7A is specifically sized for 6V cell geometry. If your battery pack uses 8V cells or a non-standard spacing, this manifold will not align correctly with the fill ports. Check your existing manifold or battery spec sheet before ordering.
Flooded lead-acid batteries require consistent watering to prevent sulfation and plate damage.
