MB Sturgis UL569 / CSA 8.3 Certified 60 Inch / High-Pressure LP MB Sturgis 100041-60 High-Pressure Propane Hose -- 60 Inches

A certified, flexible LP gas hose built for the demanding connections inside your RV -- from appliances fed off a two-stage regulator to kitchen slide-outs that need a reliable, flex-rated gas line between the fixed coach plumbing and the moving slide room.

Flexible LP Gas Connection You Can Trust

The MB Sturgis 100041-60 is a 60-inch high-pressure propane hose designed to handle the LP gas supply side of your RV -- whether that means running gas to a range, oven, furnace, or water heater, or providing the flexible loop needed when your kitchen slide-out extends and retracts. At 60 inches, it gives you enough working length to route cleanly without sharp bends or undue strain on fittings.

Both ends are 3/8-inch female inverted flare (FIF), the standard connection type used throughout most RV propane systems. These ends thread directly onto male inverted flare fittings found on appliance valves, manifold ports, and slide-out flex connectors without adapters in most installations. The 1/4-inch inside diameter keeps flow resistance low while staying compatible with typical residential-style LP appliance demand.

60-Inch Working Length

Enough length to route around obstacles, through floor channels, or through the wall pocket of a slide-out -- without pulling tight under load.

3/8" Female Inverted Flare Ends

Standard RV LP fitting type on both ends. Connects directly to most RV appliance valves and manifold ports with no adapter needed.

UL569 and CSA 8.3 Certified

Dual-certified for high-pressure LP gas service. Meets the safety standards required by most RV manufacturers and inspection authorities.

Slide-Out Ready

Flexible construction handles the repeated extension and retraction cycles of RV kitchen slide-outs without fatiguing the hose body or fittings.

Common RV Applications

This hose is a direct-fit solution for several common RV LP plumbing scenarios:

  • Connecting a range, cooktop, or oven in a slide-out kitchen to the fixed LP manifold in the coach wall
  • Replacing a deteriorated or cracked flex hose between an RV two-stage regulator outlet and the main coach supply lineAdding length at an appliance connection when a rigid copper or aluminum line was cut too short during a repair
  • Creating a serviceable flex connection at a furnace or water heater that sees vibration during travel
  • Connecting an outdoor LP appliance port to a portable grill or camp stove (verify appliance regulator requirements)
Dual Safety Certification

UL569 covers the standard for pigtails and flexible hose connectors for LP gas. CSA 8.3 is the Canadian Standards Association standard for flexible connectors for LP gas appliances. Holding both certifications means this hose meets the requirements of inspectors and campground operators in the US and Canada.

Slide-Out Kitchen Connections -- What You Need to Know

When an RV kitchen is mounted in a slide-out, the gas line between the fixed coach plumbing and the appliance must flex every time the slide moves. A rigid line will crack or pull a fitting loose over time. The 100041-60 is long enough and flexible enough to form the required loop inside the slide pocket, absorbing the 8-18 inches of travel typical in RV kitchen slides without kinking or stressing the end fittings.

Route the hose in a gentle S-curve or U-loop inside the slide cavity so it has slack to work with as the slide extends. Avoid routing it where it can be pinched by the slide mechanism or contact sharp sheet metal edges.

Two-Stage Regulator Systems

This hose is rated for use downstream of a two-stage LP regulator -- the standard configuration on most RVs built after the mid-1990s. In a two-stage system, the first stage drops tank pressure to approximately 10 PSI, and the second stage drops it to the appliance supply pressure (typically 11 inches water column / approximately 0.4 PSI). This hose handles both the inter-stage and downstream sides of that system.

Installation Tips

  • Inspect both end fittings for nicks or debris before threading onto mating fittings -- inverted flare connections seal on the metal flare surface, not a gasket, so cleanliness matters
  • Hand-tighten first, then snug with a wrench -- typically 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand-tight for 3/8 FIF fittings on soft-line hose
  • After connection, perform a leak test using approved LP leak detection solution (not open flame) and verify no bubbles at either fitting under normal system pressure
  • Avoid routing the hose within 3 inches of exhaust components, furnace burner areas, or any surface that exceeds 120 deg F during operation
  • Do not use pipe dope or Teflon tape on inverted flare fittings -- the flare-to-flare metal seal is the only approved sealant method for this fitting type
Maintenance and Inspection

Inspect LP flex hoses at least once per season. Look for surface cracking, abrasion wear, kinking, corrosion at the end fittings, or any deformation of the hose body. A hose that has been pinched flat, sharply kinked, or shows surface checking should be replaced regardless of age. The MB Sturgis 100041-60 carries a limited 1-year manufacturer warranty.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • LP gas work must comply with NFPA 58, local codes, and your RV manufacturer's service guidelines. In some jurisdictions, LP gas line work must be performed or inspected by a certified LP gas technician.
  • Always shut off the LP gas supply at the tank valve and purge system pressure before disconnecting any existing LP hose or fitting.
  • Never use an open flame to check for leaks. Use only approved LP gas leak detection solution or an electronic gas detector.
  • Do not use Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on inverted flare fittings. These fittings seal metal-to-metal on the flare; sealants can contaminate the seal and cause leaks.
  • Do not exceed the certified pressure rating of this hose. Do not use on natural gas systems -- LP and natural gas operate at different pressures and are not interchangeable without regulator changes.
  • Route the hose away from heat sources, sharp edges, and moving mechanical components. Chafing or heat exposure can degrade the hose body and create a gas leak hazard.
  • Inspect hose before each camping season. Replace immediately if cracking, kinking, corrosion, or physical damage is found.
