Before connecting to your RV's fresh-water inlet, thread the regulator onto the campground pedestal, then attach your drinking-water hose to the outlet. Turn the water on slowly and watch the gauge. A red-zone reading at the pedestal before you even turn on flow is a sign the incoming supply is extremely high -- the regulator will control it, but it is worth noting for your records.
