Heavy-duty 4" × 4" square tube-in-tube single leg hydraulic jack for the center tube of Gooseneck trailers. 12,000 lb capacity. 24" stroke. Commercial pump with manual override hand pump. Replaces most square leg hand crank jacks. Wireless remote compatible. Requires 12V battery.
The EQ Systems 8222FUPS is a heavy-duty single leg hydraulic trailer jack designed to bolt to the center tube of a Gooseneck trailer — replacing your existing square leg hand crank jack with a far more capable hydraulic system. At 12,000 lbs lifting capacity and a 4" × 4" square tube-in-tube construction, this is a purpose-built working jack for horse trailers, motorsports haulers, livestock trailers, and equipment trailers that demand reliable, repeatable lifting power.
What sets the 8222FUPS apart from the standard screw-drive model is its manual override hand pump. If your 12V power source fails in the field, you can manually operate the jack using the built-in hand pump — no tools required, no being stranded with a loaded trailer. The commercial single-function pump is mounted directly to the jack assembly and protected by an included pump cover. All wire harnesses are wrapped in PVC high-temperature nylon braid for durability in demanding outdoor environments, and universal mounting brackets are included for a straightforward drop-in replacement of most square leg hand crank jacks.
If 12V power fails, the built-in hand pump lets you operate the jack manually — no tools needed, no being stuck with a loaded trailer
Heavy-wall square tube-in-tube design for superior rigidity and resistance to side loads versus round tube alternatives
Universal mounting brackets allow installation in place of most square leg hand crank jacks — no custom fabrication required
Works with EQ Systems wireless remote (part #7823, sold separately) for convenient jack operation from outside the cab or trailer
EQ Systems offers the AM 1/24 single leg jack in two manual override configurations: 8222FUPS — Manual Override Hand Pump (This Unit) Manual override is a self-contained hand pump built into the unit No tools required to operate manually — pump by hand directly Faster and easier to use if power fails in the field Best for: trailers that travel frequently or operate in remote areas where power failure recovery matters most AM 1/24 — Manual Override Screw Drive Manual override uses a rotary screw mechanism (requires a wrench or drill) More mechanically simple Best for: applications where manual override is rarely needed and simplicity is preferred Both versions have identical 12,000 lb capacity, 24" stroke, and 4" × 4" square tube-in-tube construction. If you regularly operate your trailer in remote areas or away from reliable power, the hand pump override (8222FUPS) is the better choice.
The following items are not included with the 8222FUPS and must be sourced before installation: • Mounting Bolts: Bolt Kit #7227 is sold separately and is specifically required for mounting this jack — do not substitute generic hardware without confirming compatibility • Hydraulic Fluid: Use Dexron ATF — fill reservoir to approximately 1–1.5" from top after installation Order Bolt Kit #7227 at the same time as this jack to ensure you have everything needed for installation.
Can be installed by most trailer dealers or mechanics familiar with hydraulic and 12V electrical systems. Replaces most existing square leg hand crank jacks. 1. Remove Existing Jack: Remove the current square leg hand crank jack from the center tube of the Gooseneck trailer 2. Position Mounting Brackets: Position the universal mounting brackets on the trailer center tube at the correct height and alignment 3. Bolt Brackets: Secure mounting brackets using Bolt Kit #7227 (sold separately); torque to specification 4. Mount Jack: Attach the 4" × 4" square tube-in-tube jack to the mounted brackets 5. Connect Harnesses: Route and connect PVC-braided wire harnesses from pump to operating switch; secure away from moving parts, sharp edges, and heat 6. Connect to 12V Source: Connect harness to trailer's 12V battery; ensure a reliable, charged battery is available before operation 7. Fill Hydraulic Fluid: Add Dexron ATF to the pump reservoir; fill to approximately 1–1.5" from top 8. Purge & Test: Follow EQ Systems AM Single Leg purge instructions before first use; test extend, retract, and manual hand pump override operation
