Electric stabilizing system for Class C and Class B motorhomes on Ford E-350, Ford E-450, and Chevrolet C5500 chassis. No welding or drilling required — clamp-style chassis-specific mount. One-touch automatic operation. Eliminates coach lean from slide extension and virtually all movement sway. Under 80 lbs. complete.
The EQ Systems 8449AM is a chassis-specific electric stabilizer system for Class C and Class B motorhomes built on Ford E-350, Ford E-450, and Chevrolet C5500 chassis platforms. It is a stabilizer system, not a leveling system — it is designed to brace a coach that is already parked at an acceptable level, eliminating the two most common livability complaints: the lean that occurs when a slide room is extended, and the bounce and sway when occupants move around inside the coach.
Installation uses clamp-style mounts that attach directly to the Ford or Chevrolet chassis without any welding, drilling, or permanent frame alteration. The chassis-specific design means the mounting geometry is engineered for these exact platforms, significantly reducing installation time compared to universal systems. EQ Systems provides mount spacing dimensions to help ensure correct positioning during installation.
One press of the switch pad extends both stabilizer jacks simultaneously and automatically — no manual cranking or individual adjustments. Motor outputs are also user-adjustable to compensate for uneven weight distribution when slides are extended, allowing you to dial in more stabilizing force on the loaded side of the coach.
Clamp-style mounts attach directly to the Ford or Chevrolet chassis — no permanent frame modification, no welding, no frame drilling
Single button extends both stabilizers automatically — press to deploy, press to retract; no cranking or manual adjustment
Stabilizers brace the chassis to prevent the coach from tilting or settling when slide rooms are extended — keeps the coach rock solid
Engineered specifically for Ford E-350, E-450, and Chevrolet C5500 chassis — reduces installation time vs. universal fit systems
STABI-LITE® (This Unit) — Stabilizer System Designed to eliminate sway and lean on a coach that is already parked and roughly level. Two electric stabilizer jacks press firmly against the ground to brace the chassis. Does not raise or level the vehicle — the coach must already be at an acceptable level before deploying stabilizers. EQ Smart-Level Hydraulic Systems — Leveling Systems Designed to raise and level an unlevel coach after parking. Four hydraulic jacks lift and reposition the vehicle to achieve a precise level. Handles grade changes that stabilizers cannot. Many Class C and Class B owners use both: a hydraulic leveling system to handle grade on arrival, and the STABI-LITE® to stabilize the coach once leveled. The STABI-LITE® is also used standalone by owners who typically park on level surfaces and primarily need slide stability and sway elimination. For Ford/Chevy Class C chassis, consider pairing with the EQ Systems 8106UPS hydraulic leveling system if full leveling capability is also desired.
Do not move the vehicle with stabilizers extended. Always visually verify both stabilizers are fully retracted before driving. When using the automatic retract feature, visually confirm retraction even after the system signals completion. Do not go under the vehicle while stabilizers are extended. Do not allow excessive coach movement while stabilizers are in operation.
Can be performed by most RV service centers or a qualified installer familiar with 12V electrical systems. No welding or drilling required. EQ Systems provides chassis-specific mount spacing dimensions for correct positioning. 1. Position Stabilizers: Use manual override coupler (5/8" wrench or socket, counterclockwise = extend) to partially extend legs for positioning 2. Clamp to Chassis: Attach clamping mounts to the Ford E-350/E-450 or Chevrolet C5500 frame per EQ mount spacing specifications; torque hardware to 30–35 ft-lbs 3. Mount Switch Panel: Secure switch panel using included mounting bracket; note the switch panel harness length when selecting the mounting location 4. Route & Connect Harnesses: Connect color-coded controller-to-motor harnesses; secure all harnesses away from moving parts and heat with cable ties or clamps 5. Connect Power: Connect 40-amp circuit breaker at the battery; if desired, wire pink wire to ignition-ON source for automatic retract when ignition is engaged 6. Adjust Plant Pressure: With slides extended, adjust controller output dials to apply appropriate stabilizing force to each side — higher dial number = greater force to that leg 7. Test: Test one-touch extension, retraction, and auto-retract if wired; visually confirm both stabilizers fully retract before moving the vehicle
