Drayton Solutions 8-Bike Capacity Made in USA Drayton Solutions Hitch-Mounted 8-Bike Rack (8BikeRack)

When the whole group is riding, one rack handles everyone. The Drayton Solutions 8BikeRack mounts to any Class III or heavier 2" receiver hitch and carries up to eight full-size bicycles -- 250 lbs total -- on a single, road-tested steel frame. Built and warranted in the USA, this rack travels as hard as your crew does.

One Rack. Eight Bikes. Zero Excuses.

Whether you're rolling out in a Class A motorhome, a fifth wheel rig, a tow vehicle, or a full-size SUV, the 8BikeRack installs in minutes on a standard 2" receiver and gives you room for every rider in the group. No extra vehicle, no trailer, no juggling act -- just load up and go.

The frame is constructed from heavy tubular steel and finished in a durable powder coat that holds up to road grime, weather, and the inevitable parking lot scrape. A rubber anti-abrasion strip on the top bar protects wheel rims from chafing, and the lower bar is fitted with eye bolts for 1" ratchet straps so bikes stay locked in position mile after mile.

8-Bike Capacity

Carries the full crew -- up to 8 bicycles and 250 lbs total -- on a single hitch-mounted frame without splitting across two vehicles.

Powder-Coated Tubular Steel

Heavy-duty steel construction with a protective powder-coat finish resists rust, road debris, and UV exposure on long hauls.

Folds Flat for Access

The rack folds down when bikes are not loaded, keeping the rear of the vehicle or RV accessible without full removal.

Adjustable Receiver Bar

3-hole adjustable receiver bar lets you set rack distance from the vehicle -- critical for clearing a spare tire mount on the tailgate or bumper.

RV and Motorhome Use

The 8BikeRack is sized for real-world RV use. The 3-position adjustable receiver bar is specifically designed to clear rear-mounted spare tires common on Class C motorhomes, truck campers, and SUVs. At 55" wide and 72" tall (folded up), verify that the rack clears your vehicle's tail lights, camera housing, and any rear-swing door swing path before final installation.

Spare Tire Clearance: The 3-hole receiver bar adjustment lets you push the rack out away from the vehicle body, providing clearance for rear-mounted spare tires and ladder-style bumper accessories common on RVs and trucks.

Bike Protection Details

Carrying eight bikes close together creates contact points. Drayton addressed this directly:

  • Rubber anti-abrasion strip on the top bar cushions wheel rims and prevents metal-on-metal chafing during transit.
  • Eye bolts on the lower wheel-rest bar accept standard 1" ratchet straps (not included) for positive bike retention -- each bike can be strapped independently.
  • Bikes hang vertically, distributing weight evenly across the frame and keeping frames separated.
Ratchet Straps: The rack uses standard 1" ratchet straps for securing bikes to the eye bolts on the lower bar. Straps are not included -- you will need up to 8 straps (one per bike) for maximum security.

Installation Overview

The 8BikeRack ships partially assembled and requires basic hand tools to complete installation. No welding or drilling required for standard 2" receiver hitches.

  • Slide the receiver bar into your 2" hitch receiver and secure with the included hitch pin and clip.
  • Attach the vertical bar to the bottom hinge bracket.
  • Install the top bar and bottom bar using the included hardware.
  • Select your preferred receiver bar hole position to set depth/clearance from the vehicle rear.
Tools Required for Assembly: Two 9/16" wrenches, one 1/2" wrench, and one 3/16" Allen wrench. All mounting hardware is included in the box.

Important Information -- Read Before Ordering and Installing
  • Hitch requirement: Requires a Class III or heavier 2" receiver hitch. This rack will NOT fit 1-1/4" receivers. Verify your hitch class and tongue weight rating before loading.
  • Weight limit: Total bike load must not exceed 250 lbs. Overloading the rack or exceeding your hitch's rated tongue weight can cause vehicle handling issues and rack damage.
  • Ratchet straps not included: You must supply your own 1" ratchet straps to secure bikes to the lower bar eye bolts. Unsecured bikes can shift, fall, or contact each other in transit.
  • Clearance check required: At 55" wide, verify the rack clears your vehicle's tail lights, rear camera, and swing-out door or spare tire carrier before driving. Use the 3-hole receiver adjustment to set proper depth.
  • Two-person installation recommended: The assembled rack weighs 50 lbs. Use two people when inserting into or removing from the receiver hitch.
  • Not rated for Class I or II hitches: Do not attempt to use this rack on a 1-1/4" or Class I/II receiver -- the frame and load exceed those ratings.
  • Check local laws: Some states require a light bar or supplemental lighting when a rack obstructs factory tail lights. Verify compliance before road use.
