Flow-RiteUp to 24 Cells12V DCFlow-Rite BA-MS-652 Mini Pump Assembly -- Battery Watering Kit with 5-Gallon Tank

Stop hauling jugs and guessing water levels. The Flow-Rite BA-MS-652 delivers precise, spill-free battery watering for smaller banks -- up to 24 cells -- using a 12V DC pump powered directly from your battery system via ring terminals. Everything needed to get started is in the box: pump, 5-gallon tank, and a pre-wired 5-foot harness.

Controlled Battery Watering for Small Banks and Light-Duty Use

Flooded lead-acid batteries need regular watering to prevent sulfation, plate damage, and premature failure -- but overfilling is just as damaging as running dry. The Flow-Rite BA-MS-652 pairs with Flow-Rite's single-point watering valves to fill each cell to the correct level automatically, then shut off. No guessing, no spills, no acid on your hands.

This mini assembly is sized for light-duty battery banks of 24 cells or fewer -- roughly a 6-battery, 12V bank wired in series-parallel, or equivalent 6V/8V golf cart-style configurations. It is the right choice for smaller RV house banks, small solar storage systems, or maintenance carts where a full-size pump assembly would be overkill.

Light-Duty Rated

Designed for banks up to 24 cells -- ideal for 4 to 6 battery RV or solar setups.

5-Gallon Tank Included

Enough capacity to water most small banks several times before refilling the tank.

12V DC Power

Powered from the battery bank itself via ring terminals -- no separate power source needed.

5-Foot Wire Lead

Pre-wired harness gives enough reach from battery terminal to pump without extension splicing.

Why Precision Watering Matters

Flooded battery cells must be maintained at the correct electrolyte level -- typically just above the plates but below the fill collar. Overfilling dilutes electrolyte concentration and causes acid overflow during charging. Underfilling exposes plates and accelerates sulfation. Flow-Rite valves used with this pump assembly shut off automatically at the correct fill height in each cell, making consistent watering fast and accurate without tools or measuring.

What Is Included

  • Flow-Rite mini 12V DC pump assembly
  • 5-gallon water supply tank
  • 5-foot pre-wired harness with 12V DC ring terminals

Battery Watering Valves Sold Separately

This kit includes the pump, tank, and power harness only. Flow-Rite single-point watering valves and manifold tubing for your specific battery model must be purchased separately. Confirm your battery's terminal layout and cell count before ordering a valve kit. Flow-Rite offers valve kits matched to specific battery brands and configurations.

Typical RV and Off-Grid Applications

The BA-MS-652 is well suited for:

  • RV house banks using 4 to 6 flooded 6V or 12V batteries
  • Small solar storage banks in trailers, tiny homes, or off-grid cabins
  • Golf cart battery packs up to 24 cells
  • Marine trolling motor battery banks
  • Commercial vehicle or fleet maintenance carts where a compact, portable kit is preferred

Connecting to Your Battery Bank

The ring terminals on the 5-foot harness connect directly to your battery bank's positive and negative posts. The pump draws 12V DC and activates when you connect power to begin pumping water from the tank through your watering valve tubing. Always connect the watering valve tubing to all cells before activating the pump. Disconnect power and stow the hose after watering is complete.

Maintenance Tips

  • Use distilled or deionized water only -- tap water minerals accelerate plate damage and valve fouling.
  • Water batteries after a full charge cycle, not before, to avoid overfilling as electrolyte expands during charging.
  • Rinse the tank and pump lines periodically if the system will sit unused for an extended period.
  • Inspect watering valve tubing for cracks or kinks each season -- replace any damaged sections before use.

Important Information

  • Rated for banks of 24 cells or fewer -- do not use on larger banks where a full-size pump assembly is required.
  • Flooded lead-acid batteries only. Do not use on AGM, gel, or lithium batteries.
  • Watering valves and manifold tubing are NOT included and must be purchased separately to complete the system.
  • Use distilled or deionized water only -- tap water minerals will damage cells and foul valves.
  • Always water batteries after a full charge, not before, to prevent overfilling.
  • Keep ring terminal connections clean and secure; loose connections can cause intermittent pump operation or terminal corrosion.
  • Do not operate the pump without confirmed valve connections to all cells -- uncontrolled flow can overfill and overflow cells.
