When the squeeze ball in your Pro-Fill or Qwik-Fill hand pump gets stiff, cracked, or loses prime, this is the part you need. The Flow-Rite BSA-5000 is a direct OEM replacement that restores smooth, one-directional fluid flow so you can water batteries quickly and without mess.
The BSA-5000 is the squeeze ball assembly used in Flow-Rite Pro-Fill and Qwik-Fill battery watering hand pumps. It includes integrated check valves on both the inlet and outlet ends, which is what keeps fluid moving in one direction when you squeeze and release. Without a functioning check valve, the pump loses prime and fluid bleeds back -- slowing down battery maintenance and making a mess in the process.
This is a consumable service part. Rubber squeeze balls harden and crack over time, especially in environments with temperature swings, battery acid vapors, or UV exposure. Replacing the BSA-5000 is a straightforward fix that extends the life of your entire pump assembly rather than replacing the whole unit.
Dual check valves maintain one-way flow on both inlet and outlet. No backflow, no re-priming required during use.
Engineered to connect directly to standard 3/8" Pro-Fill and Qwik-Fill pump tubing with no adapters needed.
Genuine Flow-Rite part. Matches original dimensions and valve configuration for proper pump function.
Works for RV, golf cart, marine, forklift, and solar storage battery watering -- any application using a Flow-Rite hand pump.
The squeeze ball is the pumping mechanism of a hand-operated battery watering pump. Squeezing the ball creates positive pressure that pushes fluid through the outlet check valve and into the battery cell. Releasing it creates suction that draws fluid from the source container through the inlet check valve. Both valves must seat and seal correctly for the pump to work. The BSA-5000 replaces the entire squeeze ball and valve assembly as a single unit.
Proper directional orientation is critical when installing the BSA-5000. The inlet end connects to the supply tubing (water source side) and the outlet end connects to the delivery tubing (battery side). Installing the squeeze ball in reverse will cause the check valves to work backwards and the pump will not transfer fluid correctly. The ball body is typically marked or shaped to indicate the correct flow direction -- confirm before securing tubing.
The BSA-5000 is designed for use with Flow-Rite Pro-Fill and Qwik-Fill series hand pumps used in battery watering systems. These systems are common in:
If your hand pump uses 3/8" tubing and is a Pro-Fill or Qwik-Fill model, the BSA-5000 is the correct squeeze ball replacement.
The BSA-5000 is designed for use with distilled water, which is the only fluid that should be added to flooded lead-acid battery cells. Do not use this pump to transfer battery acid (electrolyte), tap water with high mineral content, or any chemical solution not specified by your battery manufacturer. Using contaminated or incorrect fluid will damage battery cells and void battery warranties.
