This keeps the system voltage the same as a single panel while adding the amperage of each additional panel together. Example: Two 115W panels each producing 12V / 9.6A wired in parallel = 12V / 19.2A total output. Parallel wiring is the common choice for RV solar setups because most RV charge controllers are designed for 12V or 24V systems, and keeping voltage consistent while increasing current is the simplest way to add capacity without exceeding controller input limits. You need one 708-0050 pair per two-panel parallel junction. If combining three or more panels, additional branch connectors or a dedicated combiner box may be required.
The 708-0050 is designed to combine two panels in parallel. It is not intended for single panel-to-controller runs — use the 708-0040 Single Connector for that application. Per NEC and UL6703 standards, MC4 connectors should only be mated with connectors of the same type and brand. Use Xantrex connectors with Xantrex panels and cables for a safe, compliant installation. Note: Disconnection requires the 708-0060 PV Connector Assembly Tool — do not force MC4 connectors apart by hand.
