Additional Product Information
When the hitch ball is inserted into the hitch cylinder the spring-loaded locking mechanism which keeps the ball firmly in place. When the ball needs to be stored, it is unlocked by pushing the thumb lock and removed by rotating. The ball can then be inverted and put back into the socket until you need it again.
The ability to remove the hitch ball and store it keeps the Diamond Hitch flush with the floor. The Diamond Hitch is mounted entirely underneath your Chevy / GMC truck bed, keeping storage space open when nothing is being towed.
Installation is made easier and quicker because the Diamond Hitch is bolted directly to the truck frame. It needs a four-inch hole in the truck bed for the ball cylinder, but uses existing bolts and holes whenever it can. The main hitch assembly is constructed from one-piece tubular steel to add to the overall strength and durability.
